On tap at GABF. Pours with a hazed deep golden hued body with a thick and lasting off-white head. Aromas are grassy, sticky caramel, diacetyl, butterscotch, mild esters and alcohol. Flavors are boozy, diacetyl, butterscotch and tea. Very warming. Yeast seemed a bit stressed. Medium to light bubbles.

22 oz. bottle, pours amber orange with almost no head. Aroma of caramel, raisins and slight hops. Flavour brings out more of the hops than the nose suggests, with caramel, toffee and dark dried fruits - high sweetness profile. Very nice.

Location: Bottle at Max and Andy's Fantasy Tasting, 5/1/10
Aroma: The nose on this one is roasted malts, some coffee, licorice, and toasted grains
Appearance: Clear brownish-black color with a beige head
Flavor: The taste is fairly simple, light taste, roasted malts, some sweetness
Palate: This porter is fairly thin, even a little on the watery side, with a light-medium body
Overall Impression: My first rating from this brewery, heck, I'd never even heard of it before I tried this beer at the tasting. Anyway, I wasn't particularly impressed. I don't know if this was a bad bottle, but I didn't get as positive an impression as many of the previous raters did.

Bomber from Whidbey Beer Works. Pours dark amber with a foamy beige head. Aroma is like berry fruit over roasted malt. Medium body with foamy carbonation. Within limits it is like a Flemish ale that’s just missed being sour. It’s pretty dry, though there is a sweet hint, and it’s hinting at having kissed some oak. Though it hasn’t. It’s a pretty good beer, but it’s almost like it pretends to greatness. Didn’t make it that far. Like it.

Dark brown. Lots of green hop in the nose. Nice chocolate accents. Toasty flavour, with lots of green hop and the distinct accent of a Bob Marley cigarette. This has a good roast/chocolate malt character, but it is also the weediest beer I’ve had in a long time.

Bottle from Malt & Vine. Pours dark brown/black with a few tan bubbles. Aromas of dark burnt malt, mild sour/smoke and a touch of coffee. Medium plus body with rather smooth carbonation. Chocolate and coffee attack the tongue. A bit chalky. Finishes with coffee bitter, and a touch of smoke and/or sour. Really exceptional porter.

Pours deep murky copper brown with thin tan head. The aroma is raisins, prunes, a bit of pine hops and some molasses. Smells nice. The taste has more hops than the nose hinted at. It seems to start with raisins, prunes and super ripe cherries. Quickly solid pine hops and resin goodness surface and take hold of the flavor. It gets a bit crystal malt like toward the finish. Enjoyable product.

Bottle. Poured deep brown with thick tan head. Aroma of malt, caramel and sugar. Overly buttery flavour, with a tiny bit of malt, caramel and sugar. Metal in the finish, with some malt. This beer began very well, but finished poorly

Bottle. Poured brown black with frothy beige head. Much lacing. Aroma of smoke and roast malt. Very smoky flavour, a little chocolate, a little roast, but mostly smoke. Tangy smoky finish, with more roast.
