月と太陽ブルーイング Moon & Sun Brewing Pilsner 5% 30 IBU Straw gold with a wispy white foam and aggressive carbonation. The aroma is grainy sweet with a bit of herbal hops. Medium bodied with a fairly crisp bitter finish. Too gassy but the flavor is definitely a solid Pilsner. 800¥ seems pricey for such a tiny seeming glass…

Tap at Takanoya. Deep orange color, Very cloudy, with a tall head. Grassy, grainy nose, light citrus, malt. Grassy, dry, and a bit rough overall. Probably too old by now.

Tap at the brewpub. Wheaty, lots of maltiness, big barley aroma. Taste is similar but has a touch of citrus and other fruitiness. Very Saaz I guess. Not the most exciting but as a first beer it works.

Tap at the brewpub. Aroma is light chocolate with a bit of soy sauce and roast. Taste is good, bit of bitterness, easy drinking, chocolate is there along with cola. Dry.

Draft at Tsuki to Taiyo, Sapporo, Japan. Pours brilliant pale gold with limited white foam. Aroma not particularly interesting, recalling a little a cold broth. Body is average with light carbonation. Taste is moderately bitter, some underlying sweetness. Finish is regular.

I can't certain had Carpe, as this Moon and Sun pub only had the Roman letters IPA, but it's absolutely best Japanese IPA I've had. Mmmm

Tap at the brewpub. Cloudy brown with nice lace. Nose of pine, caramel, some chocolate, more like a hoppy brown than an IPA. Flavor is chocolate, caramel and pine, with a bit too much diacetyl that comes out more when it warms.
