Bottle from the brewery. Nose is orange, red grapes, juniper, red currant. Palate is sour grapes, currant, lime. this has aged pretty well.

0.75 l bottle from 'Hopfenrausch', 2015 vintage, cellared for almost four years. Clear, amber with a thin, frothy, slowly diminishing, white head. Sourish, rather fruity and gently funky aroma of old lemon, rhubarb, horse blanket, some oak and a touch of leather. Quite sour, fairly fruity, gently funky taste of lemon, rhubarb, oak, leather and some horse blanket, followed by a medium long, fairly tart, woody-dry and gently funky finish. Medium body, quite astringent and gently effervescent mouthfeel, average carbonation. A little too acidic for my liking, apart from that a nice Colonia Wild Ale.

Bottled 330ml. -from Schneider’s Getränkemarkt Cologne. Black coloured, no head at all, rum and wood in the nose. Wood, alcohol, chocolate, dried fruits and boozy finish. One-dimensional and lack of carbonation.

Bananig rauchiger Beginn. Ansteigende Süße, erkennbarer Alkohol. Minimal herb, dann wieder bananig, die Rauchigkeit geht fast unter und ist zum Ende noch im Hintergrund vorhanden. Würzig, vollmundig, dunkel karamellig. Langer cremiger Abgang. 10/11/13/12//12
