Bottle. Light unclear light to medium red brown color with a small to average, frothy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, beige head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, chocolate, earth, moderate to heavy yeasty, barnyard, leather, dust, vinegar. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration. Aroma is moderate malty, toasted, wheat, moderate hoppy, citrus, moderate to heavy yeasty, light medicine. Flavor is moderate to light heavy sweet and bitter with a average duration. Body is light to medium, texture is watery, carbonation is soft. (250208)

Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet with a long duration. (A bit like prune stew). Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft, to much carbonation. (250208)

Bottled. Clear dark brown color, short frothy brown head. Aroma of blackcurrant, roasted malt, some candy sugar. Quite sweet taste, roasted malt, some coffee, blackcurrant which gives it a slight sour hint. Decent stuff.

ZBF2008: From bottle. Pours hazy orange, light brown and with a creamy light orange head. Light spiced and caramel malt aroma. Flavour is mellow yeasty, light spiced and with a lingering caramel malt. Ends light spiced and with a continued caramel flavour.

ZBF2008: From bottle. Pours dark brown with a little dense light brown head. Aroma is spiced malty. Flavour is quite dry, light spice flavour which grows towards the finish. Goes into a light herbal end.

ZBF2008: From tap. Pours dark brown with a dense/creamy tan head. Aroma is spiced, annis seed and something else. Flavour is a bit herbal, spiced and with a solid annis seed flavour, very distinct/dominant. Light roasted malt flavour. Ends much the same way. Well brewed, but too spiced for my liking.

ZBF2008: From bottle. Pours light brown with a little lacing white head. Light caramel malt aroma, mild nutty note. Flavour is mild fruity, nutty and caramel malty. Ends with a light mellow yeast note and mat flavours.
