Cask at Pig’s Ear. It pours darkest brown with a small beige head. The nose is toasty, charred wood, earthy roast, liquorice, earth, dried fruits, Eccles cake, toasted brown sugars and some ash. The taste is smooth, bitter-sweet, toasty, liquorice, charred wood, salted liquorice, chewy malt, mild smoke and earth with a dry, toasty finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Pretty alight stuff.

Cask at Pigs Ear 2015, day 1 - London. Pours rich brown with a creamy tan head. The aroma holds mild roast, burnt wood and earthy hops. Light to medium sweet flavor, with light ash and leather. Medium bodied with fine carbonation; OK condition. There’s an off plastic note in the finish, along with baking cocoa and ashy roast. Overall, it’s fine.
