About
Twin Sails Brewing joined Port Moody’s “Brewers Row” late in 2015, opening right next door to Yellow Dog. The name of the brewery refers to its founders, identical twin brothers, as well as the common sight of sailboats that can be seen on the waters of the Burrard Inlet right out front of the brewery. Twin Sails focuses on progressive American IPAs and stouts and have recently implemented a wild barrel program. They are always trying to push the boundaries of what can be done with beer in BC. Quality comes first and foremost, but in the end, it’s just a bunch of guys and girls having way too much fun brewing beer.

Poured from 473mL can. Opaque pinkish orange with no head, but proper smoothie consistency. Guava dominates with pineapple undertones. Not much strawberry. Very tasty, perfect for the summer. Is it a beer? Not really, but it's well done for this new smoothie sour fad.

473mL can, pours an opaque cloudy bright pinkish peach, no head. Nose brings out lots of guava, pineapple, and some citrus. Flavour is like drinking juicy/a smoothie, with moderate sweetness, a touch of tartness, and loads of fruit. Thick and fruity, tasting like a slightly boozified fruit smoothie. Tasty.

473ml can. Pours an opaque black with a medium, foamy, short lived, tan head that laces. Semi-sweet aroma of roasted malt, oats, cocoa, coffee, earth and vanilla. Semi-sweet flavour of roasted malt, dark chocolate, caramel, faint salt and bitter coffee in a dry, metallic finish. Light to medium body with an oily texture and soft carbonation. Not bad, but still a miss for me. A bit thin for the style and I'm not getting any fudge or even cookie notes.

473ml can. Pours a cloudy orange-gold with yeast particles in suspension and a medium, foamy, long lasting, white head that leaves soapy curtains of lace. Sweet fruity aroma of bready wheat malt, tangerine, orange, white grape, peach, earthy yeast and piney hops. Medium body with an oily texture and average carbonation. Looks like Gene picked a good one.

Dark dried apricot colour. No head. Some tangerine, lots of lactose, basic tartness. I don’t have a sense of what sea buckthorn tastes like, so I’m assuming it’s anything not tangerine.

Okay hazy deep yellow body and okay foam. Smells of okay banana, tastes of good banana and there's a little metallic aftertaste. A solid meh.

Minimal foam on wet looking molasses. Aroma is heavy boozy molasses, vague bourbon. Taste is sweet coconut and malt ending smooth, sweet, and not boozy. Overly sweet and that's about it.
