About
Twin Sails Brewing joined Port Moody’s “Brewers Row” late in 2015, opening right next door to Yellow Dog. The name of the brewery refers to its founders, identical twin brothers, as well as the common sight of sailboats that can be seen on the waters of the Burrard Inlet right out front of the brewery. Twin Sails focuses on progressive American IPAs and stouts and have recently implemented a wild barrel program. They are always trying to push the boundaries of what can be done with beer in BC. Quality comes first and foremost, but in the end, it’s just a bunch of guys and girls having way too much fun brewing beer.

473mL can, pours a cloudy bright peachy orange with a large white head with long retention. Aroma bursts with juicy, tropical stone fruit, tangerines, some guava and passionfruit, and citrus hops. Flavour is very juicy and fruity, with loads of juicy tropical fruits, stone fruits, citrus hops (low bitterness though), and just enough malt to back. No chalk or dustiness in the body, so the drinkability is super high, allowing the juiciness to shine. This is my kind of hazy (i.e., not very hazy). Very good.

An Italian low life - can't imagine it. Golden, chill haze. Big head. Nice spicy hop character, herbal, appetizing. Bitterness is fairly low but the malts are bready, and quite good. They complement the hop character. Would like a bit more dryness in the finish but solid work.

Can (2021) courtesy of Pictoman, shared with Hrabren and Ogivlado. Murky dark brown body, off-white head. Raisins, barrel, heavy maltiness in the aroma, vanilla, quite creamy and heavy. Lean, sweet taste, coconut and vanilla - the barrel shows up in force. Heavy maltiness too, clean and mixing well with the barrel notes. Rafaello with alcohol really. Class!

0.355 l can thanks to Marko, shared with Ogi and him. Brown, reddish tint, small beige head. Aroma is heavy barrel, whiskey, alcohol, peated smoke. Dried fruit and malts underneath. Lots of caramel. Quite sharp aroma, you need time to appreciate it. Flavour is caramel, light chocolate, lots of dried fruit, quite sweet and boozy. Sticky, strong, alcoholic. Light finish.
