500ml bottle. Dark brown body with a fine dense, long lasting head. The flavour comes quite up to the expectations you get from the aroma. Plenty of spices like cinnamon, clove, dried fruits and lots of ginger. It’s still a hoppy beer, but this is a bit suppressed behind all the other stuff. Long everlasting aftertaste with a hint of chocolate and a warming alcohol finish. I really believe this is a beer you either like or hate. I like it at some occasions, but not to often.

500ml bottle. Dark brown body with a light brown head. Nice roasted malt aroma. Sweet warming mouths feel with chocolate, coffe and some spices and bitterness. Long warming, roasted aftertaste. Yet another well-balanced masterpiece from Nøgne Ø. This is hopefully a new definition of what a Norwegian Christmas beer could be, honest I’m getting a bit tired of every brewery struggling to copy each other’s wimpy version of a dark Vienna.

500ml bottle. Dark amber body with creamy off-white head. Aroma of toasted malt grass and citrus. Fresh, fruity (apricot) and bitter taste. Well balanced, long aftertaste, hoppy with some lovely esters. Also a hint of smoke in the aftertaste. A very enjoyable and complex beer.

Bottle. Black colour, very small brown head. Very roasted coffee aroma. Quite powerful roasted flavour, almost turning into a sour bitterness. But very successful. Hint of aroma hops. Good coffee aftertaste.

Bottle. Weak, roasted, dusty aroma. Clear dark brown colour. Very small light brown head. OK roasted flavour, a little pepper bite. Quite pleasant, but not as flavourful as expected. Well-balanced.

Very dark reddish-brown. Aroma is chocolatey and rich with crystal malts and a woody, slightly fruity hop character. The flavour has an intense hop bitterness, lots of sticky dark crystal and also some chocolate malts. Chewy, bittersweet finish is dried out slightly by alcohol. Except for the strong chocolate character, this is pretty standard stuff for the style, and could do with some more dry-hopping.
