Bottled. Brown hazy opaque colour, big brown creamy/bubbly head. Aroma of alcohol, caramel, cookies, some coffee and yeast. Alcohol, hops, some plum and fruits in flavour. Also old black coffeeish notes and roast can be found. Aftertaste is sweet caramel and alcohol along with hops. Smooth palate. Also some burnt notes in finish and aftertaste.

Very dark hazy and ruby color, big creamy tanned head. Intensive yeasty and hoppy nose, woody-leafy aroma. Full-bodied. Licorice, hops and alcohol dominate. Very strong hoppy aftertaste, warming. Interesting complex and full beer, just a bit too yeasty (especiall the nose). (7/5/8/4/16 4.0)

Dark brown with nice creamy expresso head. Yeasty, hoppy fruity nose. Very soft velvety palate with flavors of licorice and fruits. Then good bitter bite from hops. Perfect combination. I don’t believe that ageing improves this. (7/5/9/4/17 4.2)

Bottle. Hazy amber-orange colour. Off-white head. Nose is hops, pine-resin and citric fruits. Nice mouthfeel, with taste being much the same as aroma. The long aftertaste is mostly bitter, but not unpleasant. A refreshing beer. Tasted a hoppier version this summer, and that tasted even better. Rating: 7-4-8-4-16-3.9. (051019)
Bottle. It pours a more or less clear, golden body under a generous off-white head. Lacings. It’s hoppy on the nose, with citrus and pine-cones, and a malty sweetish aroma in the background. Full-bodied and nicely carbonated, with the hops doing most of the work, giving grapefruit, pine-cones and a pleasant bitterness. There’s a balancing level of sweet malts in there too, but not more than the beer gives a quite dry impression. Long, bitter and fruity finish. A really pleasant one, both as a thirst-quencher and with pizza and texmex, not to forget BBQ. (090303)

Bottled. (#150) What better name of a beer to rate as beer no 100 than this? Dark copper with dense, beige/light tan head. It’s hazy, but that’s not easy to see because of the rather dark color. Nice carbonation too, and the head stays quite nice. Aroma is mostly fruity bitterness with pine. Flavor is hops, fruity, alcohol and malt. Caramel-sweet, malty beginning that quickly turns into bitterness and warming alcohol, and more bitterness towards the finish. Had this some times earlier at Uptown pub in Kristiansand, but they serve it directly from the fridge. It needs 12-15º C to show all of itselves. Rating: 8-5-8-4-17-4.1. (051011)

It’s quite easy to smell it’s caramel maltyness and beef-stock, but the hops are doing it’s best to hide it. Even though this has had a year in my cellar, the hops feel as fresh as I remember them, yielding resin and green pine cones in generous amounts. Peaches, grapefruit and some pineapple hints as well. Dried fruits and alcohol too. It’s creamy, full-bodied, warming, smooth and almost sticky on the palate. Wonderful flavor of hops blend nicely with malty sugars, caramel, raisins and some fresh fruits. A tiny touch of roasted malts too, almost chocolatey, but well hidden behind the hops. Resin and green pinecones, peach notes and grapefruit, and an intense bitterness. It finishes with a lasting citrusy and resiny flavor and lots of bitterness. It’s a very sweet beer, but paired with the silly amounts of hops, it doesn’t get sticky or unpleasant, and the alcohol also helps rinse the mouth. It would be wrong to say this has become my everyday beer, but I tend to down a few every week. It really does it for me when I crave for hops. (090301)
