22oz bomber from K & B Wine Cellars pours up with a clear deep gold body that supports a nice looking off white head. The aroma offers up a pleasing mix of clementine, mango, a dash of pineapple and tangerine flowing into a bit of booze. The taste is similar as it is dominated by citrusy juicy clementine and mango notes and then slivers of pineapple. Nice IIPA as its juicy with citrus and tropical fruitiness, some modest resiny bitterness and then slivers of IIPA booze. This is a solid IIPA where it leans firmly toward citrus and mango juiciness and only modestly bitter and resiny.

Poured up on tap at K & B Wine Cellars where it exhibits a murky dark brown body that supports a nice tan head that leaves behind some sheet lacing. The aroma offers up thick sweet malts, malty yet resiny pine hops and then smooth smelling sweet vanilla mixed with bourbon. The taste is similar as I get a tasty blend of malts, malt roastiness and a firm level of malt nuanced pine hop bitterness. Immediately after those notes are contemplated the smooth vanilla and chewy malt enhanced bourbon rise up in just the amount to create a terrific beer to barrel character balance.

Keg at Coin-Op Game Room, SD, 12/11/14. Clear light golden with a moderate off white covering. Nose is bitter citrics, orange pith, grapefruit, light pine, melon. Taste comprises juicy citricana, grassy hop bitterness, light pine needle, straw, pale malt. Medium bodied, fine carbonaton, semi drying close. Easy enough drinker but lacks hops and dynamism to be a great.

22oz bomber picked up at the brewery pours with a clear gold body that has copper hues and supports an off white head. The aroma pushes up a mix of mango, tangelo and floral hoppiness ringed thinly by some spicy onion like hops. This is an inviting aroma. The taste starts with a three headed hop attacked from tangelo and mango and spicy mildly dank onion like hoppiness as well as a thin rings of floral hops out at the edges of the flavor. It gets a little more sweet and juicy with citrus and mango to midway before those notes fade into the finish. Darn nice IIPA that is full in flavor yet somewhat tame and soft in sweet citrus juiciness.

Poured up at the brewery where it exhibits a clear gold body that supports a white head. The aroma offers up habanero chili peppers as well as some tangelo citrus hops and spicy hops at the edges of the experience. The taste is straight up chili meat heading quickly into capsicum heat and burn. Beneath the chili is a brief beer note. I love the habanero flavor but the impending burn and pain is a little much and takes away from the enjoyment of the beer.

Poured up at the brewery where it exhibits a nice looking copper body that supports a tan head of foam. The aroma offers up smooth sweet smelling malts, molasses and dark fruity esters as well as a light vanilla and bourbon note. The taste begins with sweet malt infused cherries and prunes and then it gets into sweet vanilla and mild smooth bourbon. This is just smooth and delicious. Somehow the barrel treatment and huge ABV don’t crush the beer notes. Solid!

Poured up at the brewery where it exhibits a nice yet murky dark mahogany body that supports a bright tan head of foam that has a golden tone to it. The aroma offers up malt sweetness, molasses, burnt malts and nuttiness. The taste is smooth, rich and sweetness that is enhanced by roasted malts and slight burnt maltiness. It has a nuttiness that seems sort of coconut or something. It ends as smooth as it started but there’s a modest malt bitterness going on.
