Rated beer #100. Bottled. Dark reddish amber colour with beige foamy head. Strong malty aroma with hints of yeast and fruit. Very balanced taste of fruit and notes of roasted malt. Bitter finish, and short aftertaste. One of the best Finnish beers I’ve had so far. (Added under wrong name, thanks for pointing it out sayravai)

Tapped@HBF2005 (as Talvikuohu). Brown colour, beige foamy head. Sweet fruitish aroma with a bit of hoppy bitterness. Very dry and sticky palate, flavour is earthy and bitter. I prefer Tumma Kuohu and Vaalea Kuohu.

Tapped. Golden coloured, foamy small white head. Weak malty nose with hints of hops. Malty/grassy/hayish flavour. Before the biggest hay flavour there is a sweet fruity peak. Pretty dry finish and good carbonation level. A bit boring though.

Draught @HBF2005
Golden color, small white head. Not much aroma, pale hoppy nose. Quite watery palate with hints of hops. Easy to drink and a bit too easy, Mallaskoski’s first big try in ales seems to be done for masses.

Bottled (BB 03/2005)
Dark bronze color with good foamy off-white head. Malty and metallic, slightly roasted aroma. Roasted with lots of toffee and coffee notes. Bitter hoppy finish. (5/4/7/3/13 3.2)
Re-rated, can - new, before only available in bottles (BB 10/2005)
Copper brown, big creamy off-white head. Mainly skunky nose. Good hoppy bitterness, toffee sweetness makes this a bit unbalanced - otherwise this would be an excellent for a pils! (3/4/7/3/12 2.9)

Bottled (BB 01/2005)
Typical light lager outlook. Aroma has malts, rye bread, metal and hints of toffee, it’s also a bit ashy. Good malty body with some crisp hops thrown in and cracker-like palate. Aftertaste is pleasantly hoppy (not harsh I like in many Finnish megalagers). This is better that the stronger version. (4/2/6/3/10 2.5)
Re-rated, can (BB says "Koe2005" which means literally "test2005")
Golden, small creamy white head. Same kind of skunky-rye nose than in canned version of dark Kuohu. Good soft hopping in the palate and ok malt character. Short hoppy finish. (4/2/5/3/9 2.3)

Pale amber lager color. Smallish white head. Aroma is slightly hoppy with unpleasant metallic tone which is in many Finnish lagers eg. Koff III. Taste is malty and medium bitter finish. Taste is more lager than pilsener. Dark Mallaskoski being so excellent world class beer, this one is a disappointment.

Beautiful amber color, big head. Sweet caramel aroma, with a hint of hop. Ordinary Vienna, with lot of caramel and a strong bitter final.
