Bottle 33cl. present from B&H thanks guys (!) @home poured into a thistle glass. Clear ruby brown colour, fair frothy beige head, diminishing slwly, thin creamy layer remains, fair lacing. Aroma roasted malt, caramel, coffee groundings, dark fruits, plums, raisins, liquorice, spicy notes. Taste light light heavy sweet and light bitter, malty, roasty, caramel, light dark fruits, candy sugar, liquorice, alcohol notes. Medium body, oily texture, soft carbonation, rather short malty sweetbitter aftertaste, roasty and woody notes, alcohol, rich brew, a bit a messy feel, nevertheless very nice.

Fles thuis gedronken. Donker bruin bier met mooie beige schuimkraag. Aroma licht fruitig, tikkeltje wijn-achtig. Smaak is zoet, fruitig met een licht bittere nasmaak.

Dark amber colour, white foam. Nose of iron, raisins, dried fruit, caramel. Taste is a bit dusty, sweet, fruity. Rather unbalanced.

Oranjegeel bier met weinig schuim. Smaak is bitterzoet met een duidelijk aparte kruidige smak die waarschijnlijk de gagel is. Moet er wel even aan wennen maar is best goed. Verder is nog iets van gras en koriander te bespeuren.

Dark brown to black with no head. Chocolate and blackberry aroma. Sweet taste with the familiar Klein Duimpje cooked cabbage off-flavor. Sweet boozy finish with more blackberry. Shame about the cabbage.

330ml bottle. Clear (?), mahogany colour with ruby shimmer and average, thick, firm, frothy to creamy, moderately lasting and lacing, beige head. Sweet-ish, yeasty fruity and dark malty aroma, notes of cherry, plum, red and dark berries, hints of malt lozenge, a touch of dark chocolate and rock sugar, dark caramel, cherry kernel. Taste is mildly bitter and sweet, toasty dark malty and yeasty fruity, hints of plum, cherry, red and dark berries, a touch of dark caramel, burnt caramel, cherry kernel, a minimally metallic edge. Minimally creamy, watery texture, dry, minimally repellent, locked palate, minimally cloying nevertheless, fine, prickly carbonation. Very nice fruity aspects, solid malty basis, decent hop bitterness - very entertaining.

Aus der Flasche (bbe 07.2023) im 2021-10 getrunken. Diese Barley Wine aus eine Port Fassreifung wirkt recht unausgewogen. Deutlich im Vorderung ist eine unpassende leichte metallische Note die aber wahrscheinlich von Fasseinfluss kommt. Schade das hier nicht mehr Fruchtaromen aus dem Fass sich mit dem malzigen Getreidenote vernunden haben. Man hat immer das Gefühl hier fehlt was oder das Ale ist nicht richt reif. Schade!

Light hazy dark golden with a thin white head. Yeasty fruity aroma with what I assume must be the gale (gagel in Dutch). Sweet taste with a medium bitter finish. One of the few times a Klein Duimpje beer actually is likable to me. Well done.

Hazy dark brown with a beige head. Caramel aroma with some light chocolate and coffee. Sweet taste with that familiar Klein Duimpje cooked cabbage off-flavor and a sweet finish. Not really bad, alcohol well hidden on this 14% ABV monster, but again spoiled by the Klein Duimpje off-flavors.
