About
Oprichter en één van de brouwmeesters van Huisbrouwerij Klein Duimpje is Erik Bouman. Hij brouwt al sinds 1996 zijn eigen bieren en in 1997 startte hij met zijn Huisbrouwerij Klein Duimpje. In 2011 wist Bouman het oude pand van een bollenkweker in Hillegom te verwerven. In de zomer van 2012 werd het proeflokaal geopend en de brouwerij in gebruik genomen. In 2013 werd de naam van de brouwerij gewijzigd van Huisbrouwerij Klein Duimpje naar Brouwerij Klein Duimpje.

Fles thuis geprobeerd met LiekevdV. Het is een oranjekleurig bier met een wit schuim. Het heeft een moutige wat fruitige geur. De smaak is moutig en kruidig.

Poors nice, good head of foam. Smells metallic. Tastes it even more, the metallic flavor you get from using too much vanilla in beer. A bit thin, but no more than you'd expect with this ABV. Not that bad, but would be better without vanilla.

Bottle @ home. The first few sips I really enjoyed the vanilla, the sweetness, the maple. After a few sips the beer became more soy sauce like and the vanilla kinda seemed to vanish, which made the beer less enjoyable. Makes the beer hard to rate, because I really enjoyed how it tasted initially, but I didn't enjoy finishing the bottle as much.

Bottle @ home. Opaque dark brown color, red glare, average sized off-white to beige head. Smell and taste malts, some roast, malt bitter, some chocolate, bitter. Firm carbonation. Decent body. Ok.

Sampled @ my one and only THT 2018. Unclear yellow color, small white head. Smell and taste malts, lightly hops, lightly citrus, slightly bitter. Average to decent body and carbonation. Mwah.

Clear brown colour with thin head. Aroma is woody and has light sweet notes. Perhaps some vanilla. Flavour is really woody and dry like a cork. Aftertaste is better. Overall too corky.
