Draught Clear gold-amber under a lacy white head; Dry, ultra-dry hopbales, could be either USA or UK, lupulin dust. Hopoils and it’s stiffened by them. Actually, too much hops in the taste: it gets really metallic and the MF is oily-slick from the same. It ends slightly malt-sweet all the same. Just slightly over-the-top IPA. More maltbacking could make it an I²PA, and that would benefit the beer.

Draught Dark orange-brown head; pitch-black beer. Oily hops, USA-like, a bit of hopscake and some... frying oil? Sweet, with a bitter, inky lining, ending in a hops onslaught. Leafy hops, and the alcohol remains hidden. Very oily, thick MF, chewy. Aftertaste fully hops bitter. Quite good, but I’d call it a Royal, ’stead of Imperial Porter...

Test vom 10.9.2007, Gebinde: Fass Noten: 9,8,8,9,-,8 - 8,26

(Draught at GBBF, London, 9 Aug 2007) Black colour with pale brown frothy head. Malty nose with roasted notes of wort, chocolate and brewing-house. Malty, grainy taste with roasted notes of wort, swedish small beer (svagdricka), cola and dark rye bread. Rather sweet, not very bitter. Very tasty, very much in the style of traditional swedish small beer, but with more body and more alcohol.

(Cask at GBBF, London, 8 Aug 2007) Pale amber colour, almost tawny, with frothy beige head. Fruity, very hoppy nose with powerfull notes of pine needles and resin. Malty, hoppy taste with pine needles and resin, seriously hoppy finish. Mores resiny than citrussy hop character. Solid malt background, but not overly sweet. Rather one-dimensional and hardly complex, but being a hophead I can’t help liking it.

Cask-GBBF. Black with a small brown head. Grassy and citrus hop aroma, lightly roast malt and caramel/toffee. Sweet with a good deal of hop flavour, some alcohol and roast bitterness in the finish. But the sweetness is a bit too much for my taste
