Description
Saimaa Brewing Company on yksi Suomen vanhimmista yhä toiminnassa olevista pienpanimoista. Juuremme ulottuvat vuoteen 1995, jolloin ravintoloitsija Pertti Oksa aloitti oluenpanon Mikkelissä 200 litran ravintolapanimossa.

Draught@Bruuveri, Helsinki. Deep amber colour with a small brown head. Aroma is dark fruits, some sweet malts as well as some mild notes of alcohol. Flavour is fruity, toffeeish, mild liquorice as well as some slight alcoholic notes as well. A bit thin in the palate, otherwise quite pleasant.

Draught@Bruuveri
Dark ruby-brown color, small beige head. Sticky Worcester-sauce aroma. Medium-bodied and quite watery palate for 8.6%. Nutty, caramelly, slightly alcoholic and spicey flavor. Taste is ok and nice to have a bit different Bruuveri brew.

Draught@HBF2011 as "Marsalkka Erikoisportteri"
Dark brown color, small steady beige head. A bit sweetish, chocolaty and toasted aroma. Medium-bodied. Sweetish, almost sugary flavor, some roasted dark chocolate, a bit hops in the finish. Lingering chocolaty aftertaste.

Can 500ml (BB 11/2011)
Huge cloudy beige head with lots of lace, deep amber color. Aroma is slightly metallic, some caramel and toasted barley. Hints of grassy hoppyness. Light body. Suprisingly nice craft beer feeling here. Grassy hoppy, bready, some caramel and toasted malts. Metallic notes. Palate is a bit weak, needs a bit more ABV or gravity.

(Draught at Bruuveri, 20110325) The beer poured dark brown and clear. Its head was small and white. Aroma had malts, hops and mildly roastedness. Palate was full bodied, a little bit dry and warming with medium carbonation. Flavours were malts, hops, hint of chocolate, mildly roastedness and medium bitterness. Aftertaste was malty and bitter. One of the better Bruuveri beers, not over-hoppy and otherwise quite balanced, too.

Yet another 330ml-bottle gift from Finn, thanks! Pours a clear and bright amber body with fair amount of declining, off-white head. Grainy and bready malts to the nose with hints of dried fruits beneath. Bittersweet apples in flavour added by honey, spices and tartness. Noticeable alcohol. Medium bodied. Mid-flat in the mouth. Ok, without lasting impressions (Tromsø, 04.03.2011).

(Draught at Syystober ’10) Poured brown and cloudy. Head was medium sized and white. Aroma contained glue, paint thinner and sweetness. Palate was quite full bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were malts, glue, sweetness, paint thinner and mild bitterness. Aftertaste was just glue. Yet another recipe developed at Bruuveri and messed up completely by Saimaa.
