Description
Saimaa Brewing Company on yksi Suomen vanhimmista yhä toiminnassa olevista pienpanimoista. Juuremme ulottuvat vuoteen 1995, jolloin ravintoloitsija Pertti Oksa aloitti oluenpanon Mikkelissä 200 litran ravintolapanimossa.

(Bottle 33 cl) Clear, deep golden with a rough, white head. Sweetish malt aroma. Medium body with a fairly solid malt base, fairly sweet malts are balanced by some decent bittering hops. An OK pils. 200507

[bottle] Pale amber colour. Frothy head. Sweet, malty aroma with notes of boiled vegetables. Sweet (too sweet) malty flavour leading to a sharp, unbalanced bitter finish. Poor Pils.

Bottle
Transparent color with a yellow hue. It has actually a bit sharper aroma than the commercial (Swedish) ones. Also the taste is not as much sweet. Still, I don’t feel the need for this candy-like soda.

Draught at the brewpub
Hazy blond color. The aroma is a bit malty. It also has a trace of cereals flavor. And enough bitterness. Pleasant.

Blond color. For being the Lager for the masses, this one is brewed quite well; the malt shows a bit in the end and the bitterness is strong.

Draught at the brewpub
Deep blond color. Light aroma of hops. Quite soft mouthfeel, with some malt taste and a quite strong bitterness that is less aromatic than expected.

Hazy dark amber color with red shades. Poor aroma and flavor, dark caramel flavor with some roasted malt and some malt acidity. Not interesting.

330ml bottle. Gold with a trace of white head; malty aroma; alocohol very obvious in the mouth, metallic and acidic, with a cloyingly sweet finish.

330ml bottle. Clear golden body with a small white head. Aoma is fruity. Flavor is also fruity, a little malty and a hint of bitterness. An OK, but rather tame lager.
