Description
Saimaa Brewing Company on yksi Suomen vanhimmista yhä toiminnassa olevista pienpanimoista. Juuremme ulottuvat vuoteen 1995, jolloin ravintoloitsija Pertti Oksa aloitti oluenpanon Mikkelissä 200 litran ravintolapanimossa.

[Had it as Saimaan Talvi Olut III] An orange beer with a thin beige head. The aroma is sweet fruity and malty with notes of caramel. The flavor is sweet caramelic with light whiskey notes and a dry end. But the body is thin.

(Bottle 33 cl) Slightly hazy amber golden with a somewhat rough, off-white head. Lightly tart aroma. Fairly light-bodied with fruity, tart accents. Dry finish. Quite unusual and not very pilsener-like at all. 060706

Bottled. Dark golden colour, small white head. Aroma is cooked vegetables and malts. Flavour is also the same. Very "Koulu"ish feeling over this one. Some similar malts or hops used?

Copper brown, small creamy white head. Metallic, mildly hoppy aroma. Mouthfeel is sharp, quite malty, slighltly harsh, some hops are there too. This is like lightly hopped version of Finnish mainstream lagers.

An orange beer with a thin beige head. The aroma is sweet with notes of caramel and esters. The flavor has notes of straw combined with OK hop notes, giving it a good bitter end and aftertaste.

330ml bottle from Alko in Finland. BB 07/06. Golden. Medium carbonation. Standard type of lager but slightly more tangy than usual. Refreshing but unexciting (03.03.2006).

(Bottle 33 cl) Fully golden with a small, white head. Medium body completely dominated by hops that leave a distinct bitterness. Quite a solidly crafted pilsener. 120206

Blond color. Strange fruity aroma, and light chemicals. Some body strength, but very unprofessional flavor; high bitterness. Strange and quite bad.

(Bottle 33 cl) Beautiful, clear amber with a small off-white head. Malty, lightly caramelish nose. The body appears dry, but you do sense a vague, underlying caramel sweetness before a short bitterness finishes the whole thing off. More of a Vienna than a Dunkel. 281205
