Description
Saimaa Brewing Company on yksi Suomen vanhimmista yhä toiminnassa olevista pienpanimoista. Juuremme ulottuvat vuoteen 1995, jolloin ravintoloitsija Pertti Oksa aloitti oluenpanon Mikkelissä 200 litran ravintolapanimossa.

Medium offwhite shiny head. Copper body. Sweetish grainy aroma with notes of corn. Taste is deep sweetish and bitter straw and grain with medicinal notes. Smooth mouthfeel. Grassy, bitter aftertaste. Quite good; better than expected. (0.33l bottle.)

Draught@Panimoravintola Bruuveri. Dark ruby red colour, small beige head. Aroma is toffee, malts and hops. Flavour is toffee, malts, hops and slight salty hints. I would go for dunkel as style, reminds quite much of czech dark beers.

Bottled. Amber coloured, small off-white head. A lot of fruit and caramel malts in the aroma. Flavour is sweet caramel malts along with some bittering hops in finish. When it warms up it gets some metallic notes to it also. Not too exciting.

Draught@Bruuveri; Helsinki. Dark ruby, small tan head. Berry-like sweety, wheaty aroma (unclean tap?). Crisp carbonated mouthfeel. Malty, notes of brewing mash, toasty flavors in the aftertaste. Simple. Listed as a vienna here, but may be a dunkel as well.

An orange beer with a slight haze under a thin beige head. The aroma is sweet caramelic and with light notes of the alcohol. The flavor is sweet with notes of straw and caramel as well as light notes of fruit and dust.

(Bottle 33 cl) Pours a clear, fully golden with a small, rough, white head. Unclean aroma of malt and brewing cereal. Medium body - again with these unclean, malty accents, some caramel and a rather bitter finish. Neither refreshing, nor pleasant. 280906

Bottle - Bruxellensis Festival. Gold with thin white head. Dullish premium lager. Bit of stale malt. Just not a huge flavour on this.
