About
Saimaa Brewing Company on yksi Suomen vanhimmista yhä toiminnassa olevista pienpanimoista. Juuremme ulottuvat vuoteen 1995, jolloin ravintoloitsija Pertti Oksa aloitti oluenpanon Mikkelissä 200 litran ravintolapanimossa. Nykyinen, vuonna 2013 käynnistynyt panimomme mahdollistaa maanlaajuisen toiminnan ja kasvuvaraa riittää vielä tulevaisuuteenkin. Tällä hetkellä olemme tuotantomääriltämme Suomen kolmanneksi suurin pienpanimo.

A very light yellow beer, a head is medium and white. Mild aroma has light maltyness, some grass and citrus. Taste has light maltyness and citrus, harsh, mustyness in the end. Tasteless. Light bodied, harsh carbonation. Weak beer.

Can as Saimaan Brewer's Special Celeia Pilsner, abv. 5.8%. A golden beer, a head is quite big and blond. Aroma has maltyness, grain, grass and overriped fruits. Taste has maltyness, grass, nice bitterness but without aromatic notes. Medium bodied. Not so fresh and aromatic as a good pils is usually.

A dark brown beer, a head is small and beige. Aroma has strong and weird overriped cantaloupe, otherwise mild, some roastiness. Taste has breadyness, some roastiness and cantaloupe, also bitterness but cannot find C-hops. Light+ bodied. Slightly better when warmer. Weird and weak beer.

Can 0.5l at home, Vantaa. enjoyed straight from the can. Aromas and flavours: Grass, some distant hints of fruits and malts. Very boring bad pils.

Tap at Roosters, Oulu. Colour is brown with small white head. Aromas and flavours: Grain, rye, bread, some distant hints of chocolate and malts. OK but little bit of more malts plz.

Tap at Bruuveri. Dark brown colour, small beige head. Malty, bready, mentholy aroma with Saimaa house aromas. Medium-bodied. Caramel, malts, grass and coffee. Decent bock.

Draught on March 3, 2018 at 60 Degrees Bar & Brewery at the Helsinki Vantaa airport. As a 25 cl pour.Cloudy dark brown color, tan head. Bitter, sweet, floral taste. Malty, toasted aftertaste. Warming alcohol. Medium and fizzy mouthfeel, medium to medium low bitterness. Malty, toasted scent.8/3/7/3/14=3.5

(Can, 0.5 l - BB 240419, from a supermarket, 20180223) The beer poured golden and lightly hazy. Its head was medium sized, frothy and white. Aroma had grass and lightly fruitiness. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were sweetness, fruitiness, white bread, earth, malts and bitterness. Aftertaste was bready and bitter. A rather weird take on pils.
