Sandy started his brewing career in the Isle of Man before returning to his native Scotland to complete the Brewing and Distilling Degree at Heriot Watt University. In his third year he was also the in-house brewer at the Hanging Bat which included collabs with the likes of Six Degrees North.
Once the four year course was complete he took a brewing position at Fallen Brewing Co. before moving on to head up recipe development and barrel aging at Black Isle Brewing Co. Having recently relocated to 71 Brewing in Dundee, Sandy has taken the opportunity to launch his own project, showcasing innovative and cutting edge beers while still drawing inspiration from classic brewing philosophies.

440ml can from Cairn Lodge Services, Lanark - Deepest brown, tan head. Chocolatey, bit roasty, lots of piney bitterness, malts come through. Well balanced.

Golden colour, small white foamy head. Aroma is floral, some mild herbal and grainy tones to it. Flavour is leather, some mild herbal and earthy tones. A bit on the harsh side of things.

Sample courtesy of Cheeseboard, cheers Simon! Dark amber brown colour, beige bubbly head and aroma of caramel, toffee, roasty. Taste is malty, toffee, caramel, roasted, dried fruit, fig, with earthy bitterness. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, tangy malty bitter finish. Quite drinkable.
