Hey there! We're Offshoot Beer Co. from your friends at The Bruery. Offshoot is the Bruers' playground, where we dive deep into the world of hop-forward beers. While we could definitely geek out on the intricacies of making these beers, we'd rather just open a cold one and...Relax.
What is Offshoot?
Years ago our founder Patrick Rue made a promise to NEVER brew an IPA. As time went on, our adventurous Bruers KNEW they could make world class hop-forward beers, so Offshoot was born as an offshoot of The Bruery, all while keeping Patrick's promise that The Bruery would NEVER make an IPA.

Pours hazy golden with a white head. Aroma has notes of malt, citrus, grape, pineapple, peach and hint of pine. Taste is medium sweet and medium bitter with a long citrus, grape, pineapple and peachy finish. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.

Turbid amber golden color. Rocky thick head that lasts for awhile. Not overly dank and hop character doesnt really shine. ABV well hidden. Its ok.

Fairly clear deep copper, bronze and deep orange coloured body with a rich, deep, microfoamed tan head, about 5 centimetres tall. Aroma of alcohol, pine, resin, pineapple, lemons, citrus, cleanser and a dash of pure astringent notes. Medium to Full-bodied; Very sweet flavour of citrus, grapefruit, resin, honey and some more pungent, dry floral and grassy flavours that hit towards the end, with a relatively balanced and soft tail end with pure citrus notes. Aftertaste is surprisingly balanced, refreshing, full-of-flavour with good hop bitterness, a pleasant sweetness, good citrus and dry notes with some definite hop bitterness, but considering the alcohol, very well restrained. Overall, a very nice balanced, full-flavoured yet relatively soft and polished real Imperial IPA that has hop bitterness, sweetness, dry flavours AND a bunch of alcohol - very nicely done overall and easily recommended for all to find - especially IPA lovers, of course! I sampled this sixteen ounce, pint-sized can, purchased from Whole Foods in Arlington (Pentagon City), Virginia on 13-April-2020 for US$4,99 sampled at my house here in Washington on 19-May-2020.

From a 473ml can on 19/5/2020. Pours a cloudy medium golden with a small head. The nose is pleasant - tropical and slightly dank. The taste is very tropical, with lots of pineapple, mango and melon, finished off by a mild spicy bitterness. Silky mouthfeel, with average carbonation. A solid and enjoyable big hazy.

Shared with friends @ Oluf Bagers Gade. Cloudy golden with a lasting white head. Big juicy citrus aroma with pineapple and mango. Sweetish fruity flavour with a faint chalky note.

ABV: 6.8%. Murky medium orange yellow colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to light heavy malty, pale malt, wheat, moderate to heavy hoppy, fruity hops, citrus, tropical fruit. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a long duration, fruity malt, wheat, citrus, tropical fruit, hop bitter, fruit juice. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft. Creamy orange with some white foam on the top. Nose is super fruity, sweetish. Not much hop character there. Taste is tropical, sweetish but with a dry finish, bitter grass comes out in the linger, otherwise does not feel very assertive. Interesting dryness last for quite a while. Soft and creamy.
