Description
Fresh, Fun, Approachable, Hop-Forward
Hey there! We're Offshoot Beer Co. from your friends at The Bruery. Offshoot is the Bruers' playground, where we dive deep into the world of hop-forward beers. While we could definitely geek out on the intricacies of making these beers, we'd rather just open a cold one and...Relax.
What is Offshoot?
Years ago our founder Patrick Rue made a promise to NEVER brew an IPA. As time went on, our adventurous Bruers KNEW they could make world class hop-forward beers, so Offshoot was born as an offshoot of The Bruery, all while keeping Patrick's promise that The Bruery would NEVER make an IPA.
Where The Bruers Relax
Offshoot is what The Bruers drink when they're off the clock. Nothing better to help you Relax, Escape, Retreat, or Coast.

16 oz. can, pours a cloudy golden with a large white head. Aroma reveals a somewhat old earthy hops, a little pine, and bready malt. Flavour is quite juicy, with lots of juicy citrus, some stone fruit, resinous hops, and bready malt. Juicy and citrus, with not too much chalk. Decent.

16 oz. can, pours a cloudy bright yellow with a small white head. Nose brings out stone fruits, some tropical fruits, citrus hops, and a hint of dankness. Flavour is very juicy, with a nice tropical stone fruit juiciness, slightly dank citrus hopping, and a fairly dry bready malt base. Really nicely juicy with none of that yeasty, chalky character that destroys most hazies. Pleasant bitter, juicy but dry finish. Excellent.

16 oz. can, about 2.5 months old, pours a hazy golden with a medium white head. Aroma brings out lots of bitter piney hops, a bit of woody resins, and crisp biscuity malt. Flavour is full of resinous and piney hops, some woody notes, and caramely bready malt. Nice balance between malt and hoppy, while the hops maintain their bitter forcefulness despite the somewhat sticky malt. Very nice west coast-style.

16 oz. can, pours a fairly clear golden with a medium white head. Aroma is quite earthy and musty, with restrained herbal hops, bready malt, and a little grass. Flavour is along the same lines, with a grassy, semi-tropical hop character, earthy bready malt, a bit of mustiness, and fresh herbaceousness. Fresh, herbal, grassy finish. Nicely made.

Pour looks like a hazy IPA with a large white head. Aroma is a real nice hoppy citrus. Flavor is more citrus hop with some dry chalky large malt reminding you this is a lager not a ale. Even with that dryer ager malt if you pouted this for someone and did not tell them what it is they may mistake this for a hoppy pale ale.
