Tap @ UBF 2016, small sample. Almost clear copper color, short frothy head. Bit spicy aroma, old cheese, blue cheese, chocolate, caramel. Spicy in taste, some choc. More a belgian strong ale.

Sample from tap @ Utrechts Brouwers Fesitval 2016, with Zlotta, Caesar, Benzai & ShivanDragon. Black color. Light brown head. Aroma’s: from the glass mostly chocolate. Retronasal: fruit (cherries?), chocolate. Flavor is moderate sweet, light roast, fruit. Medium bodied. Finishes with roast, moderate bitter.

Sample from tap @ Utrechts Brouwers Fesitval 2016, with Zlotta, Caesar, Benzai & ShivanDragon. Crystal clear orange color. Off white head. Aroma’s: from the glass not much, light English hops. Retronasal: English hops, quite mild, light fruity. Flavor is light bitter, light grain. Light bodied. Finishes eventually rather bitter, slightly dry. If this was meant to be a UK IPA, they did a pretty good job.

Sampled from tap at Brouwersfestival Utrecht 2016. Clear, golden amber with a white head. Sweetish-malty, slightly fruity aroma of honey, caramel, peach and some mango. Sweetish-malty, slightly fruity taste of caramel, honey, peach and tangerine, followed by a short, slightly bitter finish. Medium body, slightly oily mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Okay.

Sampled from tap at Brouwersfestival Utrecht 2016. Hazy, dark brown to black with a light brown head. Sweetish-malty, slightly roasty aroma of dark chocolate, coffee, caramel and nuts. Sweetish-malty, slightly roasty taste of dark chocolate, coffee, licorice, nuts and hints of dark ripe fruits, followed by a short, slightly roasty-bitter, a little yeasty-spicy finish. Medium body, slightly creamy mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Okay.

Sampled @ UBF 2016. Extremely clear copper orangy color, average sized white head. Smell and taste malts, hops, lightly a hint of resin and a nice resinous bitterness. Firm bitter finish. Quite like it actually.

Sampled @ UBF 2016. Opaque dark brown color, medium sized quite dense beige to light brown head. Aroma is musty, malts, brown malts. Taste malts, caramel, musty, brown candy sugar. More a Belgian Strong Ale instead of a (foreign) stout. Drinkable but not very pleasant.

On tap @ Oudaen, Utrecht. Clear dark brown with an off-white head. Caramel aroma with dark fruits. Very tasty dubbel, on par with the Belgian classics in my opinion
