(Draught at Moeder Lambic Original, Brussels, 21 Oct 2022) Golden amber colour, hazy, with frothy off-white head. Fruity nose with tropical fruit, mango, pineapple and apricots. Fruity, hoppy taste with notes of tropical fruit, pineapple, mango, grapefruit, peaches, grass, pine needles and a balanced citric/tropical bitterness. Almost full body, with a certain sweetness. Tasty and fresh, with a rich hop presence. Very nice.

Bière 50 cl bue au Woodpecker à Bruxelles. Le nez est rempli d'arômes exotiques qui évoquent les fruits tropicaux, les agrumes et les fruits de la passion. La bouche est tout aussi fruitée et houblonnée, avec une amertume équilibrée, voire légère pour une bière de ce style, qui apporte une finition agréablement sèche. Si vous cherchez une bière fruitée et houblonnée pour satisfaire vos papilles, je vous recommande vivement celle-ci!

Tap @GIST, BXL. Hazy yellow, white frothy head. Mild tropical fruit aroma, some mango, sweet citrus. Bitter, fruity flavour, sweet citrus, a little mango and oine towards the finish.

330ml can. Minimally milky, yellow-ish, pale golden colour with small to average, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Citrusy fruity and slightly grassy hoppy, mildly spicy and minimally wheaty malty aroma, hints of lemon, lemon peel, salted lemon, whiffs of melon, orange. Taste is mildly tart, tangy and citrusy fruity hoppy, cautious, wheaty malty basis with subtle residual sweetness, hints of lemon, lemon peel, a touch of salted lemon, a minimally herbal-grassy touch as well. Oily texture, smooth and soft, minimally greasy palate, fine, mildly prickly carbonation. Well balanced, refreshing, soft - good.

Clear dark brown to black beer, small creamy beige head, pretty stable, a bit adhesive. Aroma: malty start, very roasted, dry, grains, hay, cow fodder, decent. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: bitter, very hoppy, good roast, coffee grit, very malty, grains. Aftertaste: dry, very bitter, hoppy, roasted, coffee, a bit malty. Decent porter/stout. Only afterwards I read it’s supposed to be an Indian Porter? So Black IPA? Not a lot of aromatic hops then…

Very cloudy blond yellow beer, small creamy irregular off-white head, unstable, adhesive, leaving a nice lacing in the glass. Aroma: fruity, dank touch, citrus notes, tropical fruits. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: bitter, hoppy, tropical fruits, a bit dank, sourish touch, hoppy, a bit resinous. Aftertaste: tropical fruits, hoppy, grassy, bitter, a bit resinous, grapefruit, citrus touch, dry finish.

Little cloudy carmine red beer, small creamy off-white head, stable, a bit adhesive. Aroma: fruity, berries, buttery, some raspberries, beetroot. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: lots of beetroot, bitter, good acidity, lemony, a bit chalky. Aftertaste: very sourish, fruity, berries, some tannins, earthy, dry sour finish.

Pâle trouble, col blanc-cassé bien crémeux.
Arôme sur un bouquet malté avec une bonne note de cara pâle, un peu toasté et sublimé de suite par les houlons pour un effet 'dank' assuré. Agrumes et pamplemousse avec un léger fruité d'orange sanguine en retrait.
Palais est dank - bien herbacé avec encore ce rappel de west coast DIPA sur des notes de résineux marquées et accompagnées d'agrumes - l'apport d'orange sanguine apporte aussi un supplément d'agrumes/acidité. Le tout reste sec en bouche.

Pâle dorée, col blanc crémeux.
Arôme sur un nez plutôt classique - west coeat de bonne facture qui rappelle les prémices de ce style - ici, un bouquet généreux en malts avec un rétro-nasal houblonné dont pas mal de résineux avec une petite note de douceur tropical/coco en retrait. Cependant, la base maltée reste plus présente.
Palais est sur un malté plaisant avec des pointes de carael le tout ponctué par un houblonné classique US côté ouest californien d'antan. Léger sur le résineux, sève de sapin.
