Bottled. An amber beer with a thin beige head. The aroma is sweet malty with notes of caramel, while the flavor is sweet mlaty with primary notes of caramel, but also with a slight note of oxidation.

Bottled (BBE 1996). Dark amber colour, small white head. Aroma is bigtime sweet, but fruity hops along with some hints of hay. Flavour is hops, wood and some grassyness. Also a toffeeish sweetness lurking in the background.

[Cask at GBBF 2005] A hazy orange-brown beer with a thin beige head. The aroma is sweet malty combined with light notes of hops. The flavor is roasted malty combined with light notes of caramel, leading to a dry end. But the body is thin.

(Bottle 50 cl) Beautiful golden beer with a handsome, creamy head. Rather light-bodied and somewhat watery. Comes with a typical fruity ale character. The Fuggles arrived late but did make their presence felt. Presumably an all malt beer - don’t know exactly how rare that is for Britain. 020101

(Bottle 50 cl) Beautiful deep golden/amber with a thick and covering head. Lovely aromatic with a lightly nutty character. Long and overly bitter aftertaste - bit too much for me. 171101

500ml bottle from Sainsburys. Ruby ale. Beige head. Good malts/fruit/hop richness. Raisins and lots of toffee/coffee in the mouth made slightly sweet by a taste of demerara sugar. Excellent beer.

(Bottle 50 cl) Fully golden or light amber, clear with a limited head. Focus in this beer is the amazing Challenger hops leaving a beautiful flowery aroma, but not much bitterness. Light sweetness in the palate. Another fine example of a light ale with lots of flavour. 101204

Cask. Nutty aroma. Semi-cloudy, dark chestnut colour. Malty, spicy flavour. Finish is slightly sour, but in the good way. This was the bottom of the cask.
