375ml compact bottle with a nice, dark blue neck bought at Vinmonopolet Vika. Gives a good shot followed by smoke when opened. Fast diminishing pink coloured head revealing a bright surface at the top of a dark red body. Aroma of cherries and lemon. Sweet and tart taste of fruit and berries. Dry, sour and sweet ending. Refreshing, a bit unvaried, though (hotel room, Oslo 26.09.2011).

Borefts 2011. Egg aroma. Hazy chestnut colour. No head. The flavour is also eggy with a bit of vegetable and a mild sourness. Tastes a lot better than it sounds.

Bottle at Kernel Brewery tasting, thanks to Ang. It pours cloudy deep sunrise orange, with a thin fizzy off-white head. The nose is malt vinegar, red grape skin, spice, brown bread and red berry. The taste is juicy red grape, tart grape skin, strawberry, cherry, sweet raspberry, caramel, hay and straw, with a light tart finish. Medium body, average carbonation and foamy mouth-feel. Perhaps a bit too sweet for me, but nice nonetheless.

Bottle, lotto PBBE02-0111. Pours what must be characterized as red, with a strong carbonation and an instantly disappearing head. Aroma is definitely vinous, with grapes and oak, but some malt gets through. Flavour is again very vinous and fruity, but with some notes of tobacco. It’s difficult to decide though, if this is a beer disguising as a wine or the other way around…
