Je ne sais pas trop ce que cette bière a de Hop Karakter...Mais je m'attendais à pire à vrai dire. Et même au nez, j'ai cru que cette Grimbergen allait être une bonne surprise car elle présentait alors un bon caractère belge (pas spécialement hop par contre), avec un alcool présent comme il le faut en complément d'arômes de céréales et d'un léger miel. Le visuel lui aussi était également appréciable avec une robe blond doré limpide avec une forte effervescence et une fine mousse blanche abondante de 2 cm. En bouche, cela se complique cependant. Si on retrouve un alcool bien présent, l'équilibre est très perfectible avec une acidité qui déstabilise l'ensemble. Sur l'attaque celle-ci n’est encore pas trop présente apportant une légère touche citronnée avec en complément des arômes de céréales et de légères épices avec bien entendu l'alcool. La deuxième bouche est à l'identique avec un alcool à 8 % qui s'affirme légèrement. L'arrière-bouche est cependant calamiteuse avec une acidité bien trop présente ce qui la rend désagréable. En bouche, la texture est légèrement pâteuse et collante, pas extra. Le final est quant à lui peu intéressant et moyennement long. Pas très folichon.

Esta birra fue mi 'primer amor' en tiempos en los que aún no había perdido la inocencia. Fue la primera cerveza que probé que no fuese una lager comercial. Acostumbrado como estaba a lo pálido, inodoro e industrial este brebaje se me apareció como todo un descubrimiento, lo cierto es que en su día la disfruté mucho, era un jovenzuelo. Hoy en día, tras haber lidiado con 'pesos más pesados' me parece increíble cómo ha empequeñecido en mi percepción está cerveza , sin embargo la sigo recordando con nostalgia y simpatía.

Pours gold with a large lasting head.Nose shows grassy hops, orange peel, coriander, herbal notes, wheat and bready notes.Flavours include more bold orange peel as well as herbal notes, wheat, and faint caramel.

Pours a hazy blonde, medium small white had. Scent is mild, bit malty. Taste is soft, gentle, malty. Bit fruity, easy drinker. Less prominent on the lager yeast. Surprisingly bland, after I heard good things from fellow geeks. I anticipated on an unfiltered, unpasteurized cristal, but instead got a whole different beer altogether, which even the brewery doesn't wanna call a pilsner. It's easy to see why, as this lacks complexity, intensity and depth, even compared to the average cristal. What a let-down.

0,5 can in hotel room. Clear golden yellow body with some carbonation bubbles and a small crisp, frothy white head that soon disappears. No lacing to speak of. Medium aroma of wet grass, hops, banana and sugar. Spicy notes. Very sweet. Flavour is very much akin to aroma, but some bitterness as well to make it more interesting. Aftertaste is therefore - luckily - also bitter although the sweetness dominates. It also lingers for a decent duration.
