Bottle from Het Plein, Veenendaal. Color: Black, no head. Aroma: Boozy, Bourbon, some coffee and roasted malt. Taste: Boozy, Bourbon, sweetish, vanilla notes and almond hints. Umami. Barrel is overwhelming the base beer. I miss the coffee, dark roasted malt and hints of chocolate of the base beer. Only subtle notes of coffee and roasted malt. I also miss the carbonation, this BA edition is almost flat. Moderate bitterness, medium sweet. Over medium body. Non BA base beer is much better in my opinion.

No head but a coloured rim over virtually black beer. Pure cold coffee aroma, coffee beans, coffee drabs. Maybe a tad of black chocolate. Bitterish coffee with a light, but good balancing stout acidity. Something salty, almost fishy (pun not intended). Feels absolutely full-bodied, chewy, viscous. Far from bad! Good coffee infusion for once.

Bottle from Jumbo Barneveld. Color: Black, very thin beige head. Aroma: Coffee, roasted malt, dark chocolate hints. Taste: A lot of coffee, dark roasted malt, hints of chocolate. Full body, below average carbonation. Over moderate bitterness, moderate sweet. Nice Imperial Stout.

Mostly clear golden colour and a white head that immediately disappears. Aroma's: candy sugar, fruity, light vegetal, light herbs. Retronasal it's malty, sweet spikes. Flavour is moderate sweet, spices. Medium bodied. Light herbal bitter finish. Not too bad for an NHB beer.

Pours a deep deel brown colour and a firm brown head with reasonable retention. Aroma's of toaster malts, ground coffee, dark chocolate and some red fruit. Retronasal there's lots of coffee grind, dark malts, light red fruit. Flavour is light moderate sweet and roasty moderate bitter. Above medium bodied. Long roasted bitter finish.

0.33 l bottle from 'Ace Drinks', best before 2022. Hazy, brown with a medium large, foamy, almost stable, beige head. Sweetish, gently roasty-malty and a bit yeasty-spicy aroma of caramel, chocolate and a touch of clove. Slightly sweet, moderately bitter, gently roasty-malty and quite yeasty-spicy taste of chocolate, caramel, clove and some vanilla, followed by a medium long, rather yeasty-spicy, gently bitter and a bit roasty finish. Medium body, quite effervescent mouthfeel, average carbonation. Not great but still one of the better beers from NHB.

Many thanks to Mallorn for the bottle in the RB Euro Trade 02/20 - Cheers! 🍻. Foamy off white head left a rocky cover on a light brown still body. Chocolate, malt & spiced aroma. Medium bodied, highly carbonated with a dry clean finish. Chocolate, nutty, sweet, red berry & caramel tastes. Nice one!

Bottle. Black pour. Aroma of roasted coffee, chocolate, roasted malt, burned caramel and smoke. Taste has smooth fruity roasted coffee, roasted malt, chocolate, licorice, soft smoke, burned caramel and a little red fruit. Tasty smooth coffee ris, well done.

ABV: 7.0%. Clear medium yellow colour with a small large, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, pale malt, moderate yeasty, fruity yeast, yeast. Flavor is moderate sweet with a average duration, yeast, sharp, fruity yeast, pale malt. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft to lively. [20190927]
