Description
Founded in 2006 by husband and wife team Gabriel Gordon and Lena Perelman. In 2011 Beachwood teamed with Julian Shrago, a well-known Southern California home-brewer, to open Beachwood BBQ & Brewing in downtown Long Beach, CA. The new location features a full brewery, serving only the finest in craft beer with taps changing daily!

Draft courtesy of the Crew, thanks! Black color, small beige head. Aroma of dark chocolate, coffee. Taste is very bitter cocoa, burnt espresso. Decent.

On tap at CBC, Copenhagen. Opaque black beer. Little tan head. Crisp palate. Rich dark malts with some licorice. Semi dry finish.

On tap at CBC 2012. Black with a small tan head. Roasted aroma with hops. Chocolate, coffee and quite bitter. Descent but with rather short aftertaste.

On tap. Clear amber with a yellowish off-white head. Fruity and dry and lightly spicy nose. Medium body, very dry and sophisticated fruit accents, again a dry spicy note - appears almost like cedar! - but I guess it’s all a hop job. Only a slight hint of sweetness appears in the finish. A very sophisticated and different amber. 120512

Copenhagen Beer Celebration, 2012. Pours black with a small creamy head. Charcoal, burnt roast and coffee. Dry and roasted. Really bitter.

[5/11/12] Draught sample at Copenhagen Beer Celebration. Black, not completely opaque, with a light brown head. Roasty-hoppy aroma. Flavor has some roastiness and coffee and lots of bitter, slightly citric hops. Medium-full-bodied.

From tap. Pours dark brown to black with a small tan head. Aroma is roasted malty and toasted, breadish and liqourice. Smooth dense malty, liqourice and dark roasted malty. Bitter and dry finish.

From tap. Pours clear and golden orange with a small off white head. Aroma is fruity and crisp hoppy. Bitter, dry and light herbal. Peachy and mild grapefruity. Dry and bitter finish.

Draught. Spicy hop aroma. Clear red amber colour. Small tan head. The flavour is spicy with a caramelly note. Interesting spicy hop flavour.

Aroma has some mocha coffee and vanilla. A bit light palate. Flavour is roasted with vanilla and mocha. Dry finish. Good stuff when looking at the ABV.
