Description
Young Master Brewery was born out of a desire to brew distinctive, world-class beers locally for Hong Kong. With this project, our goal is to revive the craft brewing tradition in Hong Kong and bring the local drinking experience up a notch. Our beers are brewed fresh with the highest quality ingredients. We insist on preserving everything that’s good and natural about freshly brewed beer. To this end, we do not filter, pasteurize, or add artificial stabilizers or chemicals to our products simply to extend their shelf-life. We also use naturally produced carbon dioxide during fermentation and do not artificially carbonate. Our beer will be the freshest you can find in Hong Kong with the least distance traveled from grain to your glass.

Bottle from Brewcraft at home. Odd dull yellow grey color with minimal head. Not that inviting. Aroma is super tart citrus and sweet apple juice/corn butter. Taste is pleasantly sharp and sour with a sweet buttery finish. Not bad at all despite the appearance.

Bottle shared at Mechazilla. Thanks Brandon! Pours a hazy brown-rust color with a finger of soapy off-white head. Big sourdough bread aromas with some light oak notes. Creamy on the palate with average carbonation. Nice light sourness and chewy, bready malts. Well-balanced but lightly dry on the finish. Impressive for apparently Hong Kong’s first sour. --- Beer merged from original tick of Tai Sui (太歲) on 04 May 2016 at 23:00 - Score: 7

Draft at Brewdog. Hazy dull honey copper pour with minimal head. Aroma is big malty sourness in an unusual way. Taste follows. Like spicy sourdough bread. Very malty in a weird funky spicy way. Not my style but interesting - wouldn't get again.

Enjoyed on tap at Roundhouse Taproom in Hong Kong on the first night of arrival. Unfortunately I didn’t take tasting notes, remember this being a pretty decent red ale, nothing too crazy about it, but happy I was able to have something from this country!
