16 ounce can. Hazy pale yellow pour. Small frothy white head. Earthy malt aroma hints at citrus and passion fruit. Notes of mint and preserved lemon in middle. Finishes with a bit of cedar and pine. Interesting.

50cl bottle from Rieker in Lancaster, pours an opaque black with a ring of beige head. Raspberry soda and booze perfume out of the bottle, once it hits the glass it has caramel, florals, some candied nuts. Flavor has some nice barrel and wood char, some chocolate now, some chocolate covered cherry, a little raspberry jam, toast too. Finishes full bodied, but very smooth. Very drinkable at 10.5%. The kind folks at Rieker offered me a sample of a bottle when it was very fresh and it had a TON more fresh raspberry. That’s not a complaint about the beer or this bottle of it, just an observation.

Appropriate brew as I relocate to snowy north. Cloudy yellow and soapy white head. Nose is tropical fruits and weed. Tastes of pineapple, melon, pine, dank nugs, herbal and grass. Fruity finish. Enjoyable

50cl bottle pours an oily, opaque black with a ton of fizzy beige head that faded to a beige ring. The fizz was audible at first. The bourbon is right there in the nose and so approachable, caramel, a little cognac, vanilla, molasses, chocolate syrup. The bourbon is present in the mouth but so well integrated, marshmellow, caramel, marzipan, some black Forrest cake with the candied cherries. Finishes oily, sweet, boozy but pretty drinkable. 9 4 9 5 17

16oz can from Rieker Bottle Works in Lancaster, pours a thick, pitch black with some beige head that faded to a wisp. Nose has big cocoa and vanilla, brownie batter, molasses and toasted marshmellow. Flavor has all that sweet stuff, rootbeer barrels on the front, then chocolate syrup and vanilla caramel, those brownies and burnt marshmellow too. Finishes off dry, a bit of char bitterness on the tongue. Pretty easy drinker.

Surprize tap at mad mex in robinson, nice place, great wings. Lemonade eye. Slight BO on the nose. Very bitter up front on the mouth coating pallet. Bitter hops build thru the middle. Long bitter IPA hoppy finish.
