On tap at GABF, pours a cloudy brown with small beige head. The aroma is cherry skin and oak. Light body, fruity malt, oak, light finish, decent.

Well, they sent me some bottles when this came out, but I never wrote up my notes, so now I have a 2-year old bottle left. Well… a nice light malty smell when I pour. A big frothy head, too. Golden beer color, slightly hazy. I expect some of the floral characteristics might have aged out by now, but there is still a bit of, whadya call it, maybe hyacinth or daisy to it. Not much, and it’s not like I’m an expert in the taste of flowers. Let’s call it perhaps a note of honey, with a bitter edge from biting into plant leaves that aren’t hops. I do remember the first bottle as being more floral than this, so I definitely need to grab a fresher bottle when I get a chance. But this does age into a nice beer without any phenol or off tastes, so it has that.

5 oz. draft at the source. Clear is color amber, no head. Aroma is dirty dish rag and light brown sugar. Oh boy, very thin texture. To be nice, I will say light raisin and a mild weak brown sugar. Body is watery. Very thin, no character at all. Total swing and miss, strike 3, inning over.

Overall, this trip to this brewery was confusing because of the inconsistency in the different styles of beer.

5 oz. sample at the brewery. Aroma is white bread, hay, citrus, mild floral. Taste is white bread, light floral, notes of citrus, very light yeast character. I wouldn’t call it a saison, comparable to a dry hopped APA. But it does show mild Belgian yeast flavors. Good body with a soft mouthfeel. Interesting.

5 oz. sample at the source. Well, I liked the base stout. This brewery has me completely confused. This is like drinking Aunt Jemima maple syrup right out of the bottle. Cant taste anything other than maple syrup. An overload of maple.

Ever see the movie Super Troopers? There is a scene when the cops are sitting in a restaurant and chugging maple syrup. Yeah, straight sickly sweet maple.

5 oz. sample at the brewery. Black color, no head when it got to the table. Aromas of roasted malt, bakers cocoa and weak coffee. Flavors of roasted malt, bakers cocoa and light coffee with a dry lingering cocoa finish. Palate was medium bodied and smooth dry finish. Pretty good base imperial stout.

5 oz. sample at the brewery. Notes of toast, brown sugar, and raisins. Light-bodied, with low carbonation and a thin, sweet, lightly spicy, earthy mouthfeel. It is not fair to compare this to Cigar City "Oatmeal Raisin Brown" but that is the first thing I thought about. Unfortunately no way for this to live up to my expectations. Thin body with an overly sweet raisin note that lingers. Tastes like heavy extract and totally unbalanced.

5 oz. sample at the brewery. Pours a crystal clear golden color, thin white head. Soft citrus and grain on the nose, a hint of crackers. Light bodied, somewhat crisp texture. Grain body with soft citrus. Clean finish with mild grain.

5 oz. sample at the brewery. Aroma is a very mild grapefruit, no yeast, no botanical. Flavor definitely had the "juice" aspect but I could not find Juniper berry any place. The body is super thin. Hate to say it but, watery. It was mostly just mild grapefruit. Not awful or off, just real thin.
