Description
James Hutton and William "Strata" Smith are considered the fathers of modern geology, and rightly so. In "The Theory of the Earth", Hutton, a Scot from Edinburgh, illustrates the concept of deep time - the immense expanses of time over which geological changes occur. The Englishman Smith produced the first geological map of the earth, a revolutionary feat, detailing regional geology. Scots and Brits had been drinking beer for ages before any of these revelations came to mind, and it is rumored that our two friends sometimes strayed to focus on their love for tasty brews. Though we can only speculate, it is almost certain that at some point they imagined what it might be like to brew their own beer. We pay meager homage to these two beer drinking pioneers of their field by opening Hutton & Smith Brewing Co. in their names.

Shockingly flavorful for a 3.7% beer. Toasted bread, grain, and a touch of caramel with lingering toast and a touch of floral bitterness on the finish. Tasty pint.

Resinous and boozy, with a bit of tropical-citrus sweetness and a lot of piney bitterness on the back end. Warming, soothing, intoxicating. Pretty much exactly what you want in a 10th anniversary DIPA.

Straightforward easy-drinking lager, with a toasted grain undertone and mild notes of sweet corn, cracker, and a floral bitterness. Very, very easy to kill a pint.

35cl blik van Beer Republic. Zwarte kleur, beige kraag. Grapefruit, tabak, salmiak, hint van drop, gebrand, bitter. Medium bodied, maar toch iets dun voor bijna 9%. Wel smaakvol genoeg.

Tasty DIPA, lots of nectarine and sweet citrus notes backed up by a touch of guava and mango, with a little peach on the back end and a mineral bitterness. Slight astringency on the feel. Good pint.

Not a bad hazy, pouring the color and opacity of thick apple cider and offering up giant notes of peach and passion fruit on the nose. Taste follows suit, with additional hints of lime, citrus zest, and a mineral bitterness on the back end laced with earth and what almost comes across as a little funk. Good pint.

Interesting, with a husky malt character reminiscent of wheat bread and a touch of nuts and cocoa, backed up by hints of lemon and apple and a firm roast-like bitterness on the back end. Layered, in a good way. Nice pint.

Big, punchy, boozy as hell. Lots of Chattanooga Whiskey giving a warm hug to cocoa and caramel notes from the Adambier maltiness. Finishes with a touch of alcohol heat and some lingering vanilla and oak from the barrel. Tasty bourbon bomb.
