Caramel, bordering on toffee, nose and blood orange. Clear amber, medium head. Orange, apricot, caramel. Subtle biscuit finish. Full body, easy carbonation. As much as I'd hate to torpedo my own rating and the others before me, I believe this is just a rebrand of Blood Orange Imperial, which is already in the database. The two should probably be merged. FWIW, this beer tastes much better than the previous iteration.

Can from Total Wine in Folsom, CA. Pours amber with a foamy beige head that turned creamy. Blood orange aroma with some toffee support. Med body. Flavor is toffee, blood orange and a touch of vanilla. Can't decide whether it's dry or not. Moderately bitter with a touch of zest helping out. Interesting flavor.

2020 Update: Pitch black with a one centimetre tall rich brown head. Aroma of nuts, oatmeal, lactose, cereal. Medium to Full-bodied; Strong rich licorice, anise and hazlenuts with squash for extra body. Aftertaste is rich, sweet wtih lactose and finishes with cream, burnt sugars and molasses. Overall, a nice beer for sure - better than I remember and a nice option for part of a four pack! I sampled this sixteen ounce, pint-sized can, purchased from Costco in Arlington (Pentagon City), Virginia on 08-October-2020 for US$2,75 sampled at my house here in Washington on 20-October-2020. Rating for this sample: 8,4,8,4,16. Rich deep dark brown coloured body with a thick, creamy tan head, about three centimetres tall. Aroma of roasted malt, light allspice and canella, some mellow sugars with a good deal of caramelisation along with a touch of earthy bitterness near the end. Medium-bodied; Strong roasty and earthy malts throughout with a big dose of squash right away with a pleasant and light spicey character showing the allspice, a bit of coriander seed and even a dash of anise noticeable along with a more sweet finish showing caramel and toffee. Aftertaste is deep and pungent and mostly revolves around the squash pungency, but also some light spices, a touch of sugars and a moderate amount of prune/plum fruitiness around the edges. Overall, a quite pungent and flavourful beer that shows a nice body, some good spicey notes and ending with a moderate but enjoyable complexity. I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from Costco in Pentagon City (Arlington), Virginia on 26-August-2017 for US$4,29 sampled at home in Manassas, Virginia on Christmas Day, 25-December-2017 with my family. Rating for Initial Sample: 8,4,7,3,14
