22 ounce bottle into tulip glass; no bottle dating, but is a recent release. Pours lightly hazy/cloudy deep orange/copper color with a 1-2 finger dense off white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass. Aromas of big blood orange, grapefruit, lemon zest, orange peel, melon, light caramel, brown sugar, and floral earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance and complexity of bright orange juice/peel, citrus/floral hops, and light-moderate malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big blood orange, grapefruit, lemon zest, orange peel, melon, light caramel, brown sugar, toasted bread, and floral/toasted earthiness. Light-moderate citrus peel/floral bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of blood orange, grapefruit, lemon/orange peel, melon, brown sugar, toasted bread, and floral/toasted earthiness on the finish for a while. Nice complexity, robustness, and balance of juicy orange juice/peel, citrus/floral hops, and moderate dark/bready malt flavors; with a nice malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Light-moderate dryness from bitterness as well. Medium carbonation and medium-full body; with a smooth and fairly creamy/grainy/sticky balanced mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is fairly well hidden with a small warmth lingering after the finish. Overall this is a very good imperial fruit beer. All around good complexity, robustness, and balance of juicy orange juice/peel, citrus/floral hops, and moderate dark/bready malt flavors; very smooth and easy to sip on for the ABV. Wish the flavors lived up to the highly juicy and less malty aromas; but it was still very enjoyable all around.

Bottle: Hazy amber with a tall, yellow-white head. Honey, grain malt, leafy hop aroma. Taste is mild and sweet...caramel malt, grain, a little bit of tea and fruit. Actually, pretty good....a nice surprise from a brewery I haven’t been too impressed with over the years...

22oz bomber. Deep brown black body, respectable beige head. Pretty Stout-forward, the pumpkin and spices are rather mellow and balance out well. Nothing particularly enthralling about it, but nothing off or subpar either. Solid enough offering, a little tame with the pumpkin.

Bomber from Total Wine in Folsom, CA. Pours coppery gold with a white head. Aroma is super citrus - but ripe orange rather than harsh hop. Med + body. Flavor is orange, even zest, with some strong aspects of fresh, sweet orange. Underlying malt note - which interferes a bit with the orange fruit, but it’s acceptable. It has some floral perfume attributes, but orange is in the saddle. Not a trace of heat for me. Really quite different, and a relative pleasure to drink.

Bottle from the new total wine. Pours clear ruby black, medium tan head, dissipates slowly, good lacing. Aroma is stale coffee, ashtray, berries, roasted malts. Flavor is medium sweet, light bitter, odd actually. Notes of berry stems more than fruit, ashtray and roasted malts. Medium body, lingering bitterness.

Bottle. A- Blueberry, jelly, chocolate, alcohol. A- Black color, black liquid, light brown head. T- Blueberries, chocolate, roasty, smoke, dry cocoa. P- Full body, average texture, average carbonation, balanced finish. O- Shockingly delicious. The nose is like chocolate syrup covered blueberries and completely natural smelling. The taste is about the same but with a bit of smoke. Overall, this was quite good.

Bottle, shared with my folks before Thanksgiving dinner, pours a deep brown color with a persistent tan head. One of the best pumpkin pie smells I can recall... Light spices, pumpkin, and faint cocoa. Taste is lightly sweet with a moderate amount of cinnamon and nutmeg. Soothing with the light roast and cocoa. Really quite nice.
