Sample at Brass Tap Polaris. The beer is a brown-black color with a medium tan head that recedes steadily to a dense film. Small patches of lacing on the glass. Aroma of roast malt, dark chocolate and coffee. Full-bodied with flavors of charred malt, coffee and bittersweet chocolate. The finish is roasty with a chocolate and malt aftertaste. Pretty good overall.

Can from West Side. Pours a clear golden straw color with a soapy like head that lingers. Little buttery on the nose. Crisp on the palate. Faint lemon and grain on the palate. Light, bitter finish. Light peppery notes, but missing that kick that a good Czech pils will give you.

Large pint glass draft at Ei8ht Ball Brewing in Bellevue, Kentucky. The pour is a clear golden with a small white head. The aroma is a clean cereal grain along with some floral hop. The taste is the cereal grain, clean mineral and bright grass floral hop. Clean Lager notes with hint of hops, nice flavor balance. The palate is medium to light bodied with active carbonation and a dry mineral floral herbal finish. Nice.

Sampler at brewery. Same color as oak aged Dalton’s, rust water or weak tea. Very similar to Dalton’s but lose the apple skins. Still tastes like a very watered down sour red. A little more tingly and acetic.

Can 35,5 cl. Pours a clear, pale pink with a tiny, white head. Tart, lactic aroma, berries. Light body, very tart, feels salty as well, some cherry notes but also baking yeast and Sulphur. Tartness is good, but not without flaws. 161116
