In the spring of 2011 construction of the brewery started on the shed works and some awesome stainless steel was ordered from Bavarian Brewery Technologies. Hectic times and long hours later led to the first of the casks rolling out on the 19th December 2011.

Bottle. Pretty much black with a light tan head that's soon at the rim but never quite disappears. 3+ Smells mostly stouty - brioche dough, chocolate, whiskey, roasted malt, singed nuts some dark fruit. 8- But then it's more open and fruity and rather less roasty and chocolatey upon a taste. Bittersweet with spices, licorice and a suggestion of sourness. Less obvious whiskey except for some oak at the end. Deep, good balance.

440ml can from Highland Liquors in Ullapool. Clear copper colour with a foamy white head. Aroma is orange, caramel, pine. Flavour is all hop, citrus and pine, a little medicinal and the first few so made my tongue numb. Lovely

Can from Westhill Service Station. It pours cloudy yellow - gold with with a decent white head. The aroma is sweet, creaminess, tropical fruit punch, pineapple, lilt, guava, fruitella, peach yoghurt and tinned apricot. The taste is initially dry, some decent green bitterness which lingers, weedy, pithy, zesty, bitter peel, tangerine, orange, slightly soapy, peppery spice and pine with a drying finish. Medium body and average carbonation. Decent stuff.

Can. Golden amber, medium hazy with a white head. Aroma of grapefruit, honeydew melon, crackers. Fruity but the hop aromatics are more integrated than is often the case at present. Then bitterness gradually pulls the flavours together. Nice one.
