Macarthur Beverages, DC 500ml ($2): Pours a golden color with a white head. Aroma of Czech hops, grass, and some sugar. Very crisp, but somewhat heavy body for a pilsener as other people have noted. Good amount of hop bitterness. Quite well-balanced and good for a drink or six. Obviously nothing here is exceedingly complex.

Bottled. Clear golden, rich head. Fruit nose. Sweet and light bodied. A bit sloppy and resiny with marked resiny bitter finish. Commercial and un-firm pilsener.

50cl bottle. Golden slighty carbonated and some head initially. Muesli on the nose. Pale malt and some vegetable flavours on the taste. The palate has a light body, fairly well textured despite this and a dry refreshing finish. Good session lager.

Tap @ Hard Rock Cafe, Berlin. Pours a near black body with a dense off-white one-fingersized head. Nose is strong burned caramel along with sweet toffee and dark malts. Really nice aroma. Lively carbonated and medium-bodied. I get some faint roasted flavors along with sweet toffee and good hints of licorice. Slightly sticky palate and a medium bitter ending. Quite good!

Revisited @ Cyprus 2011

0.33l bottle. Pours a dark brown body with a small sidesticking tanned head. Aroma is light sweet with notes of dark malts, licorice, cold coffee, some chocolate, rum & coke? and something reminding me of vanilla icecream. Quite light bodied, has a watery to oily texture and average carbonation. Tastes just as it smells. Light sweet, some cold coffee, more dark malts and it ends with some nice licorice. This is a really mild, smooth and quite good little beer!

0,5 l. bottle from the supermarket. Dark brown-red colour with a off-white and creamy head. The aroma has notes of roasted malt, and so does the flavour, where I also find notes of caramel, licorice and a nice balance between sweetness and bitterness. Easy drinkable, has a good mouthfeel despite the low ABV. A good surprice hence the low price.

Bottle. Gold with a modest white head. Grainy aroma with herbs, earth and citrus. Bittersweet taste with firm grainy sweetness and distinct but modest bitterness. Pleasant but rather anonymous.

(Draught at Bishop’s Arms North, Stockholm) Golden yellow colour with brief, white head. Malty, grassy nose with bread, hay and hints of toffee. Malty taste with notes of grain, bread, vegetables and a slightly sharp, grassy bitterness in the finish. Medium body, with a touch of sweetness. Drinkable, but more of a mainstream Euro lager than a traditional Bohemian pilsener.
