16 oz can. Near black pour, small bubbly beige head. Sweet dessert aroma, marshmallow, chocolate. Taste adds a roasty edge, smooth, creamy, sweet, coffee, light bitterness. Tastes like something out of a German bakery.

2 month old stovepipe can A: Fairly clear medium gold with a short bubbly head and plentiful lace. S: Faint scent of sweet tropical fruits and light bread T: Tart and bitter citrus pith and pulp. The slightest wafer cookie sweetness. A gummy tropical note to end. M: Light crisp body and texture. Lowish prickly carbonation. O: Drinks more like a session IPA than 5.8%. And I love session IPAs. Tasty but lacking.

12 ounce can. Copper brown color. Frothy bege head. Earthy toasted malt nose has obvious notes of cinnamon and cardamom. Rich toasty malt notes. Lots of cinnamon and cardamom flavor. Hints of dried fruit and toffee. Bittersweet hop finish is reminiscent of chai spice tea.

Little sour or funky.

Slightly hazy golden and peach coloured body with a bronze-ish glow and a very thin, perfectly white head, only a centimetre or so tall. Aroma of alcohol, astringent grain, light medicinal and grassy notes with a touch of light hops and very little else. Medium-bodied; Very medicinal and astringent flavours at first that show a ton of alcohol and punch, but without much malt nor hops make this hit hard without packing many flavours or complexities - this is all alcohol and bitterness without any real IPA tastes. Aftertaste shows only the astringencies with a dose of citrus fruits, some light grain without sugars and a good deal of the alcohol warmth at the very end. Overall, a pretty poor beer, especially for the style - this isn't close to a [normal] IPA, let alone a West-Coast IPA - this was poor and showed more of an American Strong Ale in flavour with the alcohol and warmth, but the complexities of a Blonde ale. I sampled this [nicely shaped] twelve ounce bottle purchased from Liqour Outlet in Boonton, New Jersey on 22-September-2018 for US$2,19 sampled at home in Washington on 11-April-2019.

12 oz can pours dark brown clear with off-white head. Full bodied. Cinnamon and cardamom aroma. Bittersweet taste caramel upfront then some medium pine. Lingering bitter finish. Nice not elite as spiced ales go. .

Ever so slightly hazy peach and copper coloured body with a relatively thin, single centimetre tall off-white head. Aroma of alcohol, tons of resin, a good deal of astringency and pungent metallic notes showing some light fruits towards the end, but the alcohol shows through most of everything - with a lot evident. Medium-bodied; Slightly bitter and metallic flavour at first with a lot of alcohol and astringency later on, but the biscuity and slightly grainy malt comes through with a lot of dry funk showing some floral and herbal elements, but the body and especially the alcohol and astringency are by far stronger with some light medicinal sweetness at the end as well. Aftertaste shows the depth from the malts with a lot of bitterness and pungent funk towards the end, but showing a relatively good balance of malt and hops throughout. Overall, a decent enough IPA with more malt than hops, but the alcohol and astringency makes this a bit off from what you'd expect - but pretty in-line with an East Coast IPA. I sampled this twelve ounce can purchased from Liqour Outlet in Boonton, New Jersey on 21-November-2018 for US$1,69 sampled at my house in Washington while getting presents for my kids underneath the tree on Christmas Eve, 2018.
