(Bottle 75 cl) Slightly hazy reddish brown with a small, off-white and rather dense head. Vaguely fruity, berryish nose. Rather light body with a distinct fruity sweetness and a vague underlying acidity and some accents of marzipan. Rather dry finish. 240206

Huge creamy light tan head; hazy dark red body. Sweet spicy peppery aroma. Sweet earthy taste of paradise seeds, yeast, and carbonation with peppery notes. Dry aftertaste. Nice, if not earth-shattering.

(500ml plastic bottle, presented by bierkoning) Hazy dark amber colour with a small creamy beige layer. Lightly sweet malty aroma with orange rind and a herbal hoppy and spicy note. Sweerbitter flavour, medium to light body, lively carbonation. Light sweet initial taste with dark malts, caramel and citrus fruits. Dry and moderately bitter herbal hoppy and coriander-spicy finish. Good, although it lacks a bit body.

(500ml plastic bottle [labelled as 750ml], handed over by bierkoning) Hazy amber coloured effervescent hue with a big and stable foamy beige head. Dusty and light sweet malty aroma with heavy notes of citrus fruits, orange rind and hops. Sweetbitter flavour, quite light bodied, smooth carbonated. Dry malty and citrus-fruity taste with hints of caramel. Flat and thin dry, slightly bitter and fruity finish with notes of cinnamon and hops. Definitely not bad, but unfortunately too light bodied.

(Bottle 33 cl) Beautiful, clear chestnut colour with a fine, beige head which stays up quite long. Very malty with roasted notes and some caramel - but absolutely no sweetness. This beer is dry, dry, dry. In style this comes closer to an "Oud Vlaams" rather than a "Flemish sour" as this completely lacks the acidity. But very fresh with a quenching late hoppiness. And the sediment hazes the last few drops. 200605

(Bottle 75 cl) Pretty amber colour with a slight haze and a nice, dense head. Some fruity notes in the nose, and also typical fruity ale-notes in the flavour. Dry caramel notes and a discreet, late bitterness. Faint underlying tartness. Rather fresh Belgian ale in the "Speciale" style. Light in body and very easy to drink. 090605

Bottle at Reading Beer Festival. Cloudy, cherry colour. Not as sour as some krieks. Creamy cherries in mouth with only a slightly sour finish Re-rate from Catford beer festival. Before I thought that this was poorer due to the fact that it does not have Liefmans Kriek hit of fruit. However, now having had this twice I appreciate the better balance in this beer. The malts are given more room to manoevure and are richer and not so overly dominated. Excellent beer. Thanks to phil_l for the recommendation
