Bottled. Cloudy amber, brief lively head. Red currant aroma. Medium sweet with perfectly soft mouthfeel. Evident malt flavour backed by some grassy hops. Mild and likable.

Draught as is befitting for a De Ryck beer - unfortunately served way too cold Beautiful garnet red, hazy; pinkish collapsing head. Herbal & fruity at the same time, cherrynose, but faint. Very dry taste, initially faint bitterish, fruity as in red fruit, not necessarily cherries. There’s some woody adstringency there, not unaggressive, but quite pleasing, tasting natural. Warming up, inevitably some sweetness comes up, and in the MF, the beer shows, and suffers somewhat from its relative weakness. Very good try. I still lament the unique 1989 De Ryck sherry-kriek experience, but this is undeniable a step towards promessing horizons.

[Draft at ZBF 2004] A clear brown beer with a fine light brown head. The aroma is sweet caramel. The flavor is boring with notes of caramel, coriander, and a dry hoppy end. A boring average beer.

[ZBF 2004] An amber beer with a beige collapsing head. The aroma is sweet malty with slight notes of caramel. The flavor is thin and watery with notes of caramel and roasted bread. It is slightly bitter and slightly sour.

A hazy red beer with an off-white head. The aroma is sweet malty with notes of coriander. The flavor is spicy with coriander standing out. A nice beer - but the body is thin.

(Draught) Dark brown with amber shine; burnish head, fast falling, lacey. Burnt roasted & chocolate malts, and some smoked notes when warming up. Taste is sweet, roasted. There is and acidity, but not as a stout, but similar to wheat-acidity. My least favourite from the De Ryck range. But don't give it a miss if you stumble across it.
