Old Review from 16/06/2014. A bottle from the small shop in the foyer of the Wheatsheaf Inn, in Lorton, Cumbria. Part of the Independent Lakeland Breweries range from a few small, but quality Cumbrian Breweries. Bottle description- Dark Night stands out by it's deep dark colour & beautifully balanced flavours. Achieved by the masterly blending of chocolate & crystal malts as well as de-husked carafe malt. For me it's one of the better chocolate stouts I've had, with the chocolate coming across not to strong.

Old notes from 27-07-14. A 500ml bottle. Pours amber with a small white head. Aromas & tastes of caramel, citrus, fruits, biscuit & malt. Light to medium body. Light bitter finish. Enjoyable

Bottle from Open All Hours, Keswick. Some mention of Tractor Shed on the label as opposed to Yeats? Appearance - golden amber with a very slight haze. Decent off-white head. Nose - dried orange, almost plum or rhubarb jam. Taste - musty dried fruit and hay. Brown bread and dry biscuit. Palate - medium bodied, tangy sweet middle and finish. Overall - not really on style and too sweet to make drinking easy.

28/8/2019. Cask at The Last Zebra, Carlisle served in a dimpled mug. Pours golden with a long lasting creamy white head. Aroma of sweet malt, caramel, fruit, biscuit and straw. Medium sweetness and moderate bitterness with a slight tart edge. Moderate body, slight oily and watery texture, soft carbonation. Not bad.

Cask. Brown pour. Aroma of chocolate, caramelised malt and hopjesvla. Taste has smooth hopjesvla, caramelised malt, creamy mocha and chocolate. Love it.

Cask at the Bridge Hotel, Buttermere. Brown-black with an off-white head. Roasty malt is the name of the game here with a hint of ash and some milk chocolate. The mouthfeel is maybe a little too smooth for its own good; it felt it needed a little more roughness for character. Nice enough though. Surprised that it's been entered on here as an ESB; for me it was somewhere between a stout and a mild.

Cask at the Scafell Hotel, Rossthwaite. Deep gold with a white head. Grassy hops with a little lemon. Chalky mouthfeel, mildly dry. Not for me.
