Pours a hazy amber into a shaker. Milk shake froth recedes leaving spot lacing. Soapy hop aromas. Thin and vegetal upfront. Smoothing to a lasting mild metallic resin finish.

Aroma of Genmai cha--green tea with roasted rice in it. Really, smells and tastes like tea! Not very exciting on its own, although I suspect it might go really well with sashimi, yaki tori, and all kinds of Japanese foods.

Their pale ale, but with a little better aroma, and better hop flavor than the regular, I think. Not completely different, but good. Not as much on the nose as I would like, but a lot of different hop flavors in there. Very crisp and clean.

Tap at Popeye. A bit of lace on a brilliant orange-amber colored beer. Rich caramel malt. Light fruit, some hops, a touch of alcohol. Mild but sure malt, caramel, good Scotch flavor. Full body, yet not heavy. Not at all cloying. Very well done.

Draught at Q-brick. Huge American hop aroma. Medium to dark amber color with red and ornage tint, nice fine head. Big fruit flavor, with big cascade hops as well. Also caramel and bubble gum. Long, bitter hop finish. Really smooth body. Great balance. Very nice American style IPA.

Orange with a white head. Aroma has a lot more citrus hops than your normal wheat ale. Sweet malts and sort of sugary aroma, as well. Light bitterness in the flavor. Citrus, malts, and light wheat notes. Very hoppy for a wheat. High carbonation in the body. A pretty solid wheat, though not what I’d reach for if in a wheat mood due to the stronger than normal hopping. Tasty though.

Cask Version at Qbrick. Glowing orange-brown color. Complex aroma of caramel, toffee, dark fruits, pine, plum. A decent amount of piney, citrus hops in the flavor to perfectly balance the toffee and caramel. Great body and smoothness. Very enjoyable and exceptionally well balanced. The flavor of the malt in this one really comes out best in the Real Ale version.

Draught at the GJBF Osaka 2008. Closer to an amber in color and flavor, earthy, grassy, good hops. Good light flavor, but more amber than blonde. Not as good as their usual beers.

Draught at Qbrick. Great fruit and hop nose, with grapes or cherries and citrus. Light and crisp, good light malts to balance. Very enjoyable.

Real Ale at Qbrick fruit beer day, May 08. Copper/red color with a large tan head. Sweet and sour, lots of cherry, with a bit of a lambic aroma. Very fruity, moderately sweet. Rich malt flavor, with a lot of fruit and a good sour balance. Wheat and spices noticeable. Low hops. Made with 1/3 wheat malt, so it is really a wheat ale. Good malt backing, nice caramel. With dark fruits and figs. Excellent--the best of the day.
