Cloudy amber with a small white head. Aroma is herbal and a little nutty, with dusty and yeasty touches. Sweet and alcohol filled flavour with a malty and nutty finish that could be sunflower seeds.

Cloudy amber with a bubbly off-white head., Aroma is strong peaches, a natural and fresh peach aroma, not candy. Some soft caramel, and maybe even cream in the background. Very sweet, with a little tart peach note, and again some caramel. The finish is fruit and licorice mix. It’s a bit of a mess of flavours with tart fruit, caramel and licorice, and it’s cloying sweet, but I have to respect the very impressive strength and quality of the peach aroma.

750ml graciously shared by Tom aka CaptainCougar. Thanks man! This is really a memorable beer. Highly aromatic, like a Christmas tree doused in a sticky IIPA. Piny spruce madness. The alcohol is quite well hidden. The taste is all hop, spruce, and the associated flavors that come with that territory. Excellent beer.

On tap at HopCat, Grand Rapids. Pulpy orange-brown body, thin creamy buff head. Potent potpourri-like nose with coriander and pepper notes. The coriander and especially peppercorns dominate the body, giving the beer a slight burn, strange and interesting. Bready wheat notes lurk beneath the sharp spices. Probably best enjoyed as a half-pint.

Thanks to mibirder for this - dark ruby, nearly black beer, with a soapy tan lace - strongly roasty aroma, with moderate tart cherries and some tobacco - creamy mouthfeel - dry, roasty, almost smoky flavor - unlike the aroma, the cherry is very hard to pick out, but the char, tobacco and smoke come through quite a bit - as it warms, the cherries become a bit more noticeable, and add a slight tannic quality - pretty nice, but not at all what I was expecting.

On tap at Shorts. Dark brown, approaching black body with a tan head. Coffee and chocolate aroma with a hint of grain and notes of caramel and roasted/burnt malts. The flavor is moderately bitter and lightly sweet. Moderately acidic. Finish is dry, bitter and somewhat metallic. Medium to full body, watery turning to sticky texture. Moderate carbonation. Tastes of espresso with a hint of chocolate. Enjoyable.

Draft at the brewpub. This is one of the better balanced APAs I have had β€” neither the hops nor the malts dominated, yet both were present and not subtle. Amber/orange and cloudy with a white head. The aroma is citrusy with grapefruit and orange peel. Hints of pine, grain and caramel. The flavor was moderately sweet and moderately bitter. Yet neither was forward and the finish was mildly bitter. Very clean. Medium body with a watery texture. Lively carbonation. Very nice and very easy to drink.

Shared by notalush. Unforunately, this was another cool sounding Shorts beer that just turns out very average. Pours dark brown with a fizzy head. Aroma is light booze and light bark/earth. Taste is a bit bland with light watery dark malts. Easy drinking and a well attenuated lager.
22oz bomber, Southampton snifter.

Thanks to hailsquishface for this one - dark brown beer with a ruby tint, and a fizzy, short-lived head - the oak is more apparent than the bourbon in the aroma, and some vanilla and moderate spiciness round things out - the schwarz character is pretty much gone from the aroma - the reverse is true on the flavor - the schwarz flavors are all quite present, and the barrel character actually takes a back seat - the roasty flavor of the beer is complimented fairly well by the bourbon flavor - however, the beer is quite thin, and an ashy bitterness develops as it warms that throws things off a bit - slightly doughy finish - this gets points for being quite subdued for a bourbon-aged beer, but aside from that, it’s still kind of a middle of the road beer.
