Dense, just off-white head over slightly orangey-golden beer, veiled, seemingly well-carbonated at first. Ultra neutral nose, near anything to smell?? Sweetish-malty with a slight milky touch. Finish and palate have some metallic notes, if always sweetish, just a tad drier. Light bodied, but sticky, near cloying, medium carbonated. Ouch. Extra ouch.

Fluffy white head over metallic golden beer with a near imperceptible haze. Bit milky nose, plain grains, bit dusty. Tad nasty thickened milk flavour upon dried, tired pale malts. Bit grassy to hayish. Light body, sticky. Pretty unsatisfying lager.

Originally rated May 2007. Malt liquor from Lithuania, new arrival at The Beer Store in Ontario. Sounds like fun. Pours a deep golden colour with a decent head, leaving nothing around the glass and disappearing fast. Not much carbonation. Just a few tiny bubbles here and there coming to surface. Came in a can for me, so no green bottle, no skunk. The nose is not repulsive, just a bit sweet with some fruits (like oranges) and a bit of alcohol. Even after a few sips, I can feel my head getting bigger (not a Sledgehammer lyric). Oily mouthfeel without too much burn. The taste is like butter mixed with sweet malt and a slight dry aftertaste. Feeling now the drunkeness. Not as bad as I read.

Can 500ml (Maxima, BB 04/2012)
Dark ruby color, small steady off-white head, some lace. Sweetish syrupy aroma, ryebread, typical kvass nose. Light to medium bodied. Sugary, molasses, ryebread, caramel. Although has 50% beer, tastes more like commercial Baltic kvass. Somewhat drinkable.

Small beige head over hazed reddish-brown liquid, very lively carbonated. Overwhelming caramel/sticky toffee aroma, really like freshly made caramel-colour buttertoffee, to the detriment of any other aroma. Outspoken & sweet, but intriguing. Flavour is more of the same, if relieved somewhat by citric acid-soda dilution. Sugared buttermilk. Weird, but not bad. Sticky, despite the carbonation and other acidity. Other grains and honey in the aftertaste. Special, but this is not beer, nor ale, but a kind of kvass.

Small offwhite head. Hazy amber body. Spicy raisiny rye aroma with earthy plastic notes. Sweet-acidic rye and raisins taste with spicy honey notes. Mild, soft mouthfeel. Mid-bodied. Dryish grapes, rye, and honey aftertaste with spicy cinnamon notes. Lovely and highly refreshing. (0.5l bottle, grocery store, Vilnius.)
