20oz at the brewpub, shortly thereafter walked over to Haymarket to try their version. The base is beautifully clean, light clean neutral yeast with a well attenuated great beer. The Falconer’s Flight hop variety doesn’t do much for me. Its not herbal enough as the good German hops, not assertive like American hops, and not super fruity like the newer hops. Its just there and the 60 IBUs are pretty present with such a clean and light body. I could drink this easily but I would prefer a different hop.

Sample of Sample at the brewpub. Aroma is dusty malts with sweet and luscious wet hops. Flavor has a bite of pine but mostly bitter sweet tropical fruit hops. Don’t like the malt character and the hops are not targeted. But all in all decent stuff. I wish I knew what Sample meant.

Sampler at the brewpub. This was a wine barrel aged something or other. Muddy brown appearance, no clarity what-so-bit. Strong sour and wine aroma. Mouthfeel is very fizzy and flabby. Flavor has lots of wine flavor, oxidization, and sour fiz. Cherry finish. Weird and off. Could not drink the full sampler.

Sampler at the brewpub. I love the name, a little extra on the score because of it. Brown color. Aroma is roast and toast nutty malts. Flavor is clean with bitter malty earthy caramel(not sugary) sweetness. So nice, damn good schwarz.

Sampler at the brewpub. This is your basic brewpub hefe. This may have been a little stronger on banana and clove but well within range. Well attenuated, nothing bad with this at all.

Sampler at brewpub. Nice golden colored beer. I just did not like it too much, had a very phenolic or just plain weird yeastiness. Or maybes its just the spices. I think that is the point but I did not enjoy it.

Numerous imperial pints at the brewpub. Color is thick amber with a strong little head. Cannot see through the beer. Aroma is sweet tropical fruit all over the place 0 a mix of hops and Belgian yeast I guess. Malt not getting in the way but present. In the flavor much more bitterness comes through the tropical hoppiness, which also gives it a nice bitter and drier finish than you would think from the aroma. Not sugar but some malt sweetness.
