This one’s pretty decent. Some roast and some dark chocolate. Pours black with great pillow of mocha head and great lacing. Light bitter finish. Touch of caramel. Nitro at brewpub.

Not really my idea of a winter picnic. Hazy amber pour with ok head. Some apple and some citrus and plum. Tangy finish. Sticky and a little gross. Tap at brewpub.

Sooke Harvest Fresh Hopped Pale Ale from Spinnakers Brewpub

This is the one that was at GCBF 2015. Hazy and pale with a bubbly head. Aroma is leafy bit not mega-hoppy. Light and leafy, powdery hop, mellow but balanced by pale malt, very pintable.

Poured from the tap. Hazy yellow with white head. Very light hefe flavour, some banana and clove, but strong soap flavour ruins it. Light body.

Poured from the tap. Dark brown with minimal off-white head. Sour aroma and taste with a bit of roast malts and chocolate on the taste, subtle hints of red wine. Pleasantly surprised.
