Big notes of caramel malts, boozy bread, and butterscotch pudding. Some light hoping, thick mouthfeel, and a dry roasty finish. Light caramel lingers with a touch of coffee. Alcohol is hidden very well, a nice sipper.

Hazy amber pour, big beige head.
Aromas of fresh bread, sweet chewy malts, tobacco, and some light grassy hops. This beer gets breadier as it warms. Truly liquid bread with sweet tobacco in the finish that lingers with the grassiness.

650ml bomber. Jet black, big frothy mocha head. Cocoa nibs, sweet soy, smoke, burnt fresh roast coffee. Flavor and finish bring out an intoxicating licorice, and deep roasted malt, and coffee. Medium bitter finish, lingering licorice. Excellent stuff.

From tap at BeerTemple, Amsterdam. Aroma is sweet roasted malt, caramel, plenty of liquorice, then chocolate and coffee. Flavour is medium sweet and moderate to medium bitter. Body is full. Sweet and bitter, lots of liquorice, nice Impie Stout.
Yeah. That should be drank cold and not at the end of the night. But still good the next day.

bottle aged in whiskey barrrels 2016 super nice aroma of sweet roasted malts, whiskey, coffee bitterness, roasted malts bitterness. amazing at this point in time (2024). well blended, good bitter balance to the boozy sweetness. complex. Flavor, unfortunately does not hold up, the bitterness is still pretty awesome coffee something, but the roasted malts has turned slightly sour which ruins things a bit. The bitter ending is still fantastic but the way there through slightly citrussy sour roasted malts is a bit of a test.

Old tasting, Feb 6 2015, at La tienda de la cerveza, Madrid (old venue on Ruda St, now defunct.) Very dark pour, honey to amber hue. Thick, moussy, long-lasting tan head. Aroma is honey, molasses, fig tree leave, candied sugar, orange peel. Powerful onset, oily mouthfeel. Strong and bitter finish that lingers for long.
