Description
Waterloo Beer is brewed with care in the Mont-Saint-Jean farm, the famous 'English Hospital' of the Battle of Waterloo. More than ever, this high-quality beer is a symbol of authenticity, craftsmanship and courage. In 1815, during the famous conflict, the troops were supplied with high-fermented beer that gave them strength and courage to face each other. Two centuries later, Anthony Martin is proud to revisit this moment in history by reviving the local beer quality, prepared strictly according to the original recipe: Waterloo – beer of bravery!

0,33 l bottle. Pours dark brown with a finger of dissipating off white head. Aroma of roasted malt, caramel, some yeast, dark fruit and light honey. Taste is medium sweet and light to medium bitter. Body is medium, texture slick and carbonation average. Finish is medium long, spicy bitterness quickly overrides flavor. Alcohol is present, but not too much.

0,33 l bottle. Pours clear amber golden with a finger of frothy off white lasting head. Aroma is malty, bread, hay, yeast, spices - coriander and orange peel, a hint of caramel. Taste is strange, medium spicy sweet with medium bitterness. Body is medium, texture slick and carbonation above average. Finish is average, spicy sweet and mildly bitter. Alcohol is well hidden, it does give that warm stomach feeling. Not the finest tripel.

Bottle, 0.33l. Aroma of yeast, dark fruit, caramel and honey. Pours clear dark brown color with thin creamy tan-like head and sparkling appearance. Taste starts with sweet toasted malt and caramel, follows by dark fruit and mildly burnt sugar, mouthfeel is warming alcoholic and spicy, while finish is medium grassy bitter. Full body, creamy texture and lively carbonation in palate. I haven't gotten any strength with this brew, only weak knees...

Sampled @ Kerstbierfestival VandeOirsprong. Hazy light reddish color, average sized white head. Smell and taste lightly malts, a bit sweet, lightly herbs or spices. Some (Dutch) "appelmoes". Not a lot of flavor imo. Meh.

Lichtbruin bier met mooie stevige schuimkraag die lang blijft staan. Smaak is zoet en licht bitter met iets van karamel en honing. Klasse!
