Description
Waterloo Beer is brewed with care in the Mont-Saint-Jean farm, the famous 'English Hospital' of the Battle of Waterloo. More than ever, this high-quality beer is a symbol of authenticity, craftsmanship and courage. In 1815, during the famous conflict, the troops were supplied with high-fermented beer that gave them strength and courage to face each other. Two centuries later, Anthony Martin is proud to revisit this moment in history by reviving the local beer quality, prepared strictly according to the original recipe: Waterloo – beer of bravery!

Bottle from the Kings Avenue Mall, Paphos, Cyprus. Pours red amber brown with a long lasting beige head. Aroma of toffee, molasses, prune, malt, dark fruit, touch of liquorice, yeast. Medium plus sweetness, light bitterness. Medium to full body, sticky texture, soft carbonation. Finish is quite alcoholic, with some chocolate notes. A quite complex and very warming and enjoyable beer.

Pours hazy deep amber with a small beige head. The aroma contains malts, caramel, red fruits, brown sugar and spices. It tastes medium to heavy sweet, leading to a light bitter spicy alcoholic finish that fades quickly though. Medium body, decent carbonation, oily texture.

Unieke presentatie. Volle body maar toch eerder oppervlakkige smaak.

Bottle at home. It mentions lambic on the label so it must be good! Clear ruby red with fizzy light pink head. Lots of marzipan, sweet cherry lemonade, bitter herbs, alcohol, light spicy yeast. It’s a lot like a typical sweetened artificial kriek but with added alcohol and some spicy and herbal notes. Lots of alcohol no some plastic in the finish. Not much of an improvement on regular shit kriek. Body is on the fuller side.
