Description
Waterloo Beer is brewed with care in the Mont-Saint-Jean farm, the famous 'English Hospital' of the Battle of Waterloo. More than ever, this high-quality beer is a symbol of authenticity, craftsmanship and courage. In 1815, during the famous conflict, the troops were supplied with high-fermented beer that gave them strength and courage to face each other. Two centuries later, Anthony Martin is proud to revisit this moment in history by reviving the local beer quality, prepared strictly according to the original recipe: Waterloo – beer of bravery!

Now 8% abv. It has a dark golden colour. Fairly heavy and thick feeling. Overly sweet.

Aroma has a very light hint of aniseed. Sweet dark malts in the flavour, light caramel too. Unfortunately there’s a harsh metallic aftertaste.

(Draught at Delirium Tap Bar, Brussels, 23 Oct 2014) Golden colour with frothy, white head. Malty, fruity nose with notes of tropical fruit, pineapple and candy sugar. Malty, fruity taste with tropical fruit, mango, pineapple and a certain grassy, spicy bitterness in the finish. More than medium body, with a certain sweetness. Well balanced and tasty, with lots of tropical fruit. Quite nice.

Bottle. Pours clear golden with airy white head. Clear aroma of fruit, malt and caramel, with a touch of flowers and hops. Bitter, hoppy flavour with sweetish notes of caramel malt and fruit and herbal touches. Bitter and estery finish. Okay, decent but not extraordinary.
